The Miguel who fought Shane Mosley was a completely different fighter who fought Pacquiao. He took shots from a fast Mosley and kept on bringing it...

Would it have been a different fight if Cotto wouldnt have fought the Plastarito or same result?

too hard to call. it is all well and good saying cotto had started declining since that loss, but with pacman being as good as he is, i dont know if anyone would have beaten him that night.

Pacquiao will always trouble Cotto with his speed, whether this is a pre-Margarito Cotto or not.

However, I do believe he may have been able to cope a little bit better...maybe not losing his head as early on as he did by starting to throw very wild punches.

I honestly can't predict an outcome. Unfortunately, we will never know if a prime Cotto could have beaten Pac or the "retired" PBF.

Yes it would have been the same result and maybe worse because Cotto wasn't really that cautious back then. Cotto might have been tougher at some point and probably wouldn't go down quick but he still would be wobbled and hurt. Cotto didn't exactly take shots from Mosley well enough either, he was rocked a few times but Mosley never followed up. You are also overlooking the fact that Mosley didn't fight the right way, he tried to box Cotto and in return was confused because he couldn't do much. If he fought aggressive all the way he might have gotten him out of there, he got aggressive too late and didn't do much to follow. If Pac hurts him he will make sure to keep him hurt and be all over him as he already did. Pacquiao is also faster in my opinion than Mosley at the weight, Cotto would run into some serious bombs because he won't see most of them coming and Pacquiao generally fights aggressive, if you can be aggressive and hurt Cotto then you have a great chance as proven many times. The Mosley fight is just a bad example because Mosley was waiting most of the fight and allowed Cotto to outland him.

his spirit was kind of lost a bit... but in the same token... he knew he was not indestructable anymore...and perhaps a bit more carefull

I see it being a lot more competetive, but I still think Pac would take it

I agree with most of this, but I don't think Cotto would have lost either way to Mosley.

I think it will be the same. Cotto is already back pedalling against Mosley in the last rounds. He will not have the stamina to be competitive in the later rounds.

no difference. speed and power and more importantly the angles would just trouble him too much. perhaps it wouldnt be the massive beatdown it was, but still a pac win.

the margarito that fought cotto that fight beats Pacquiao @ 147 and IMO easily.
