Agreed, but it's still nothing compared to what he would make in a showdown with Cotto or Mosley...2 theoretically easier matchups.
With Martinez, Angulo would probably not win. Martinez is top notch and has fought two top guys, and Angulo has good power but not vs. this level. I think Angulo and his people know he will lose.
not impressed really. i bet hes waiting for cotto in the hope he hasnt yet recovered from his knockout losses. could be anything to do with weight? i know he campaigns at 154, as he mentioned thatas a reason.
Angulo turning down 750,000 is disgusting. Another example of the greedy *******s HBO creates. Has anyone turn down a amount that large not to fight Margarito or P.Will?
"And, by the way, he is a middleweight now because he's bulked his body up. Sergio Martinez is not any longer a true, 154-pounder. Right now, his body is more of a middleweight body. I would love to see [ex-world champion] Antonio Margarito for him." (Lou diBella)
Angulo really strikes me as having a ***** attitude. He threw a diva fit when he didn't get enough billing for his last fight, drops his title so he wouldn't have to fight Dzinzurik, takes fights with guys like Julio and Alcine over Martirosyan, Latimore, and Lara. Frankly I'm shocked no one's ever pushed for a Williams-Angulo fight. Heck I think they were both WBO interm champs at the same time for a sec. At 28, he's no kid anymore, he should've jumped for a shot at Martinez at 160. Cotto won't fight him, it'd be a replay of the Margarito fight -considering Angulo hits harder than Margarito.
