The news is out that Williams and Martinez resumed negotiations. The October 2nd date is no longer available. The new target date is November 20th.

Bro -- ya need to keep up. diBella bitched out. It is a matter of record that dibella stated clearly he does not want Martinez to fight Williams again.

last i heard williams turned down 50/50. these days new reports come out all the time. but martinez is chasing williams and the fight hasnt yet been made. so im inclined to believe that story bout the 50/50 not being enough.

Williams did the same thing to Pavlik. Actually I should say Goosen did it. He demanded a 50/50 CO-PROMOTION, not a 50/50 money split, a 50-/50 co-promotion.

However, neither side is innocent. diBella has been whining like a little girl about HBO insisting on Williams/Martinez II.

Since the date is November 20th now, there is a possibility that Pavlik/Pirog could be on the card. Of Course that depends on weight issues. I do not like the idea of Pavlik trying to stay at 160 very much, and I definitely do not like the idea of Pirog taking the fight at a catch weight.

Paul needs to stay at 147, if in fact he can still make it. His career is being shortened.

I don't get it, Williams has been fighting tough fights pretty much every time out since 2007. The minute negotitions don't go smoothly he gets accused of bitching out. Nevermind that A, he's already fought Martinez, B, the fight is still alive, and C, he's not the one negotiating th fight or making any demands.

Williams holds a very recent win over the middleweight champ.

"If" is a huge word in boxing, but "if" Pavlik can resolve the weight issue, he's still a force that can't be ignored.

Pirog looks like an extremely talented individual.

It will certainly be interesting to see how all this plays out.

If Williams beats Martinez again and Pavlik can beat Pirog, Williams vs. Pavlik is a must.

  12. Williams, Martinez, and Pirog all knock Pavlik back to the Youngstown bars.

Williams should take it, hes in position to get 2 chances at the linear middleweight title. If he loses(not in a devastating fashion) he will still be in a position to ask for a rubber match to decide the series.

Do you realize the Pavlik/Williams dance has been going on for two full years? I would love to see a "final resolution." The biggest issue is Kelly's weight. Reports say he is in good shape and walking around at 176-178, but we haven't seen any pics, and no one has said anything about body fat content. If he's 178 with 6% - 8% body fat, he's done at 160.
