Listen up son! The first significant correct fight pick I made was Clay over Liston. As one who lived through the era I can tell you the mid 70's through the mid 80's was a fantastic time to be a boxing fan. Some of the second tier guys in virtually every division were better fighters than most of the top guys today.

Had Floyd been around in that era, he'd have been a second tier guy, and probably wouldn't have ever won a world title. Of course we've talked about the Fab Four for 30 years, and we're gonna talk about 'em for another 30 years. Live with it.

Hey no problem. Thanks for making it. This was great. You captured that time well. Great job. I had to give this video credit. I didn't know you were on eastside. I found it on youtube and thought people had to see it. Take care.

Ricky Ricardo - Are you ****ing serious?

We are blessed that 4 amazing fighters all traded in the same era.

I love Roberto Duran, my favourite fighter no doubt. Just look at his record ignoring his last 10 or so fights were he picked up a few L's just fighting for money. The guy would have took Floyd out at any weight you want, LW or WW. He could do anything Floyd can do but better. What a beast

Then you get another of my favourites, Tommy Hearns, Floyd wouldn't go anywhere near a ring with this guy. Floyd was scared of Margarito ffs! Hearns is just another level. Mosley had Floyd on ***** street, imagine what Hearns right hand would have done.

Hagler and Sugar Ray need no explanation, Hagler never really lost, only too very controversial decisions and Sugar Ray was well... Sugar Ray. Amazing skill set and too clever.

And they all fought eachother, just I wish Sugar Ray had rematched Duran for a third time straight after there second fight. And man I wish Hagler and Sugar Ray fought earlier, Im going for Hagler all day in that

Too compare Oscar De La Hoya, Mayweather Jr and Tito etc in the same category as those above is just insulting!

I agree. Great video. I made a video about Hearns onetime which I thought was good, but close to being as good as this video made by TboneNYC, but youtube said the song I used had a copyright. Then on top of that you get people who like it which is really good, but then you get the people who put down anything you put up. Youtube can be harsh, which is why many people who put up videos do not have the options of comments.

Yes,youtube or any site where you put up an opinion or something like a vid or anything created by yourself and the people can be harsh.

That shouldn't stop you from doing what you want to do.

I like having the comments option open.

You get some good responses and you get some bad.I like to see it all.

"Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer." Something to that effect.

Yeah I know what you are saying. But your video is great. Mine were not good. I get people insulting the song and all that. I made mine with Windows Movie Maker which is ok, but it has typical writings and all that.

Each of those 4 guys had something great about them and an aura about them -Mayweather doesn't have much of an aura. Manny does.. Oscar was a good promoter and fought them all, but was not really a knockout artist or great above 140..

The guys in the 1980s each were great and each had a following and would have been great on their own. Add that times 4 when they fought each other and you have explosiveness.

Duran had the machismo and a great dominating lightweight who had power in both hands and this menacing attitude. Moving up and being successful. Thomas Hearns was the big puncher from Detroit and 6-1 at welterweight- The hitman of Detroit was Tommy's moniker. and he was scary with that explosive right hand and great jab and could box and punch and stopped Cuevas and Duran in a couple of round each, and could still outbox Benitez, Leonard was the cute boxer who was a gold medalist who outboxed everyone and had underrated punching boxer who fought the best and beat the best. The way he beat Duran just added to his aura. Hagler was the working class strong middleweight who Duran,Hearns and Leonard all moved up to fight and Leonard was the one who beat him.

Also, neither guy in the 1980's really ended up being a prohibitive dominant guy in this rivaly of 4 or fight. Even if you add in Benitez, no one dominated everyone. Leonard came close, but even the way Hearns beat him up in both his fights and should have won the second fight shows this era was equally competitive. Duran beat him and he beat Duran back, but then Hearns beat Duran which equalled everything. It was a great style matchup era with warriors.
Each had their time to shine. Duran against Leonard, Hearns vs Duran and Benitez, Hagler against Hearns, Leonard against them all. Duran beat Leonard, Leonard beat Duran, Hearns beat Duran, Benitez beat Duran ,Hearns beat Benitez, and on and on. It was a great era. Everything came together, but what I think was rare among these 4 Hearns,Duran,Leonard and Hagler was attitude. They were all warriors who came to fight. Sounds simple to say every fighter is a warrior, but these guys thrived on knocking guys out, not just winning decision. Probably the best four way rivalry of all time. Add Benitez in there and what an era this was. 4 professionals who knew the game and knew how to exploit weaknesses. Mayweather doesn't have the heart to compete with guys like this in every fight. Just too intense. These 4 guys would have chased him out of the competition

You think Mayweather would have stayed in the top competitiveness of boxing had he lost like Hearns did to Hagler or Duran did to Hearns? No way. Those guys took losses, brushed themselves off and fought on. Warriors.
