Got one coming out called "Phantom Punch" starring Ving Rhames as Sonny Liston.

If it gets theatrical release, I'll be there opening night.

News flash...Martin Scorcese made "Raging Bull" in the 1980's

My choice would be Harry Greb, middleweight champion during the Roaring 20's....fought Mickey Walker, Gene Tunney, was a boozer, a whoremonger, and had almost 300 pro fights...then theres his famous street fight in NYC with Walker.
Maybe Grebs career would need to be a mini-series, so much happened!

If theres ever to be a movie about any boxer it should be Johnny Tapia. He has one really sad and violent story to tell.

    My sentiments excactly.
The troubled childhood, his abduction from his native country, his bravery in WW2, his fighting career, his life in Europe and finally his demise in the notorious hood of Hell's Kitchen being shot in the back

World War 1 you mean.He was also awareded a medal for bravery. He was found in a gutter in Harlem with 2 bullet holes in his back apparently over a $20 debt that was owed. But sadly no one will ever know.

Id love to see a large release of a film about Carlos Monzon or Benny Lynch. Excellent careers, in the boxing hall of fame(both ring mags top 80 fighters of past 80 years), and not to mention the sad endings for both.
