I have a gut feeling that Dawson is going to get screwed.

People are saying that Andrade was in hte corner even if the camera doesn't show it. I think that only example shows their bias. Andrade was almost charging. He knew there wasn't much time on the clock. All he wanted to do is give Bute a last shot. He was seriously coming toward Bute. He was still walking when Wright told him to go back to his corner.

If Bute - Andrade 1 was fought anywhere ells than in Canada, Andrade was the winner. Thats what this thread is about - Home advantage. Something the US-boxers has had for decades......................

If the rules are respected by the book, the only way possible for Andrade to win is by the ref stopping the fight before the knockdown when Bute was falling all over the place. That was a subjective call from the ref. For the rest, there's no possible claim to make the result otherwise per the rules being respected. It's as simple ast that !

Home advantage is a big factor. It was made pretty clear by the Super Six.

The home fighters won the first 6 fights.

Couldn't agree more and anywhere ells than in Canada, the referee would have done so........Andrade on tko.................

    But he didnt...........???

After the fight it is clearly, that Bute is up at 8 seconds and it has to go to scorecards.....................but what about the referee. In his post fight interview he more than ones claimed, that Andrade leaving the corner (and then he had to stop the counting) cost Andrade the win.............hell the referee had no clue on what was going on.........................

That just made the ref look very bad but it had no influence on the result.

    The facts are these :

1-Bute goes down to the canvass with less than 8 seconds left on the time clock.

2-Bute gets up at no more than 8 seconds tops.

3-Because the time clock is below 8 seconds when he goes down, Andrade doesn't have time to finish the job, whether the ref makes a half hour count or a quick 8 second one doesn't change the outcome.

4-Per the IBF rules, at the end of a fight with no time left, a fighter only needs to be up before the count of 10. He doesn't need to prove that he is capable of still fighting.

The only logical way Andrade could have won is if the ref stopped the fight before the knockdown. Anything happening after the knockdown is not relevant to the true legit result of the fight.

Rules were followed. No questions there.

As for a stoppage, I think you also have to consider the fact that this was a championship fight, in which the champion had dominated almost every round except the last one.

Come on. Consider it the other way for a sec ... Bute, the champion, wins about every round (convincely) in the fight, but only gets in trouble in the final round, and the ref stops the fight before he even goes down? That's rarely what happens as the refs usualy tend to, at least, give the champion a chance to get back in the fight.

I'm not saying they should always be doing that, and especially since Bute was exhausted, but I'm saying it's not uncommun, and sure as hell ain't because of the fight was in Canada. It's the same everywhere.

This really was a lose-lose context for the ref's reputation as any of the two decisions he'd have made (stop it or not) would have upset a fair number of fans...

Explain why this is the case. I always assumed that referees were allowed to stop fights for the safety of the fighters, but if you're saying a referee should 'stop' a fight that's already finished (and therefore no possible further harm can come to either fighter) there must be another reason. What is it?

Also, can you confirm, according to your version of the rules, whether there is a set time limit for how long after a fight has finished the referee can still 'stop' it?

What is this :huh:huh..................Bute fore sure was the better fighter, but in every round from 1 - 12 Andrade let on the pressure (but the referee didn't aloud him to do that, Bute holding, grab him by the neck and more than twice grab Andrades legs..........???) Round by round Andrade did his to get to the champ - and in the 12 round he won............:bbb

Philla and you then just says ..............hell doesn't mater, Bute was the better fighter over 2 fights................what kind of boxing fans claim that...........??? Everybody in the universe knew, Andrade wouldn't out box Bute, Andrade had to out work Bute, and he did.................:bbb

First of all, Griffin is not like Marlon B. Wright.

Secondly, when you're talking about getting screwed, are you refering to Kotelnik robbery against Alexander?
