Absolutely. The point being nobody should point fingers at a particular country saying the chances of being screwed are higher (although Germany...). Doing that for the Dawson-Pascal fight shows that Shaw has convince you with his mumbling...

 

Come on laffie (and the TS). You should know that judges nationnality have nothing to do with that.

You can have 3 Chinese, in Montreal. There is still better chance the visiting fighter gets screw.

American judges have screwed American fighters in Germany before...

I never said it doesn't matter because Bute is the better fighter. You're the one who read it that way. I just pointed at some things you weren't considering in your judgement about refering in Canada.

The ref WAS quick (maybe too much) to seperate the fighters when they were in close... but that was not the point of my post. You said that because of the fight being in Canada, the ref didn't stop it in the 12th round ...

I'll ask you this : what if it had been the other way around? What if Andrade had been the champion, and that his pressure had given him most of the the rounds without any serious problem. Last round comes and he's rocked and in trouble at the very end... Referee stops it before he even goes down.

How would you have seen it? Honestly...

 

Honestly.........if the fight have been in any other country than Canada, how do you think the referee would react............this is my point.

This wouldn't have been a early stop, Bute was way out of it the last 2 miniuts.............

I respect all the Canadian posters a lot - but when you keep on defending this fight blindly...........you disgrace yourself. The Bute -Andrade 1 fights was very controversurly...................and therefor this topic.!

I already said that the ref may have been too quick to separate them during the fight, and YES, this may have changed the outcome... but, again, THIS WAS NOT MY POINT!

The point is that the absence of stoppage in the 12th was not because the fight was in Canada (which was your original complaint), and surely had much more to do with the context of the fight, something you were not even considering.

Talking about how the canadian refering in general (how they may seperate fighters too quickly for exemple) is another thing, which I am willing to discuss as well. But you're mixing apples and oranges here...

I said if Andrade was champion, and leading the fight unanimously... not "if the same fight had been elsewhere".

No disrespect here either mate, but if we're to discuss, we've got to at least make it logical. Saying that I disgrace myself by blindly defending Bute just shows how you failed to read both my posts correctly.

And to answer your question, yes, I do thinks that if the very same fight been held elsewhere, most of the refs would have given the dominating champ a chance to survive in the 12th since it was the first time in the fight that he was in trouble. (not saying that they should, or that the whole fight would've been ref'ed the same way though)

 

I think that Andrade didnt get a fair fight..................

Everybody knew before the fight, that Bute was the better fighter, and that Andrades only chance was to make it though. The ref never aloud that. Bute hold, grab behind the neck and the legs. Every time they got involved, the ref stopped it.

In the 11 round Bute was fatigue, in the 12 round he should have been stopped. When the ref. counted over Bute, he stopped and told Andrade to go to the neutral corner. After the fight, the ref in the post interview said, that Andrade was to blaime for not winning because the ref had to stop the counting.
