Why people here mentioning Froch About he beat Pascal but not Dawson?

Froch vs Pascal was at supermiddleweight while Dawson vs Pascal was at light heavyweight. That's 7 pounds up north for goodness sake. Pascal is a far better fighter at light heavyweight then he is at super middleweight. Wasn't Pascal got hurt badly on the undercard of Miranda fight in which that was at 168 pounds? Maybe just maybe His Chin is just better at light heavy weight. If there was a rematch it which it might be a catchweight at 171 or at 175 pounds, I think Pascal would win by 9 rounds.

 

different fights different times. people will throw the froch fight out there but ****...pascal fought a better/different fight. same thing with dirrell, right? (not the weight thing but still) i know you know better than to get into all that, ray. at the same time, i hear what you are saying.

i know your point was about the weight difference and how jean looked/looks more comfy at lhw but i was just saying in re: the froch/pascal fight that maybe jean just learned a bit...

there was a thread on here about how chad couldnt outbox jean but froch could and i was saying nevermind the weight it just maybe different fights/different results. and how froch fought and beat (debatable...very debatable) a dirrell that we didnt see in his very next fight.

would that pascal have faired differently against froch...or would that dirrell have faired differently?

 

Pascal wouldn't clinch like crazy the way Dirrell did if he fought Froch in the rematch. I still haven't seen Froch vs Pascal fight but i bet Pascal is a different fighter when he fought Froch then he is now.

Hey i still thought Dirrell beat Froch but imo i think Dirrell would have won it more clearly if he didn't clinch too much except in the last 3 rounds.

 

i hear ya. but would dirrell clinch like crazy again if he fought carl? after the point deduction and a fire was lit under andre's ass in those last couple rounds he fought like a man, had froch wobbled in the same round and looked the better fighter.

the froch/pascal fight is actually a good scrap. but i don't want you to think i don't see where your comin' from because i do.

Yes I just said earlier he fought more but can you blame Dirrell? Froch fought like a kid with a temper-tantrum with all of that fouling. Pascal-Diaconu were great scraps too.

 

Pascal obviously has a much better chin at 175 than he had at 168. In the fight Ray mentioned Pascal got rocked by journeyman Omar Pitman who has a 38% KO ratio. I can't see that happening now. In addition, the Froch fight was nearly two years ago, and Pascal has fought 5 times since then. He is obviously a more seasoned fighter.

Dawson has some bad habits, and one of them is passivity. Tonight it cost him the fight against an opponent who is obviously a bit better than most of us realized.

People are going to bring Frochs name up because hes the only guy to have beaten Pascal, who is now the only guy to beat Dawson.
Just shows how underated Froch is seeing how Dirrell went on to look good against AA and Pascal against Dawson. Froch knew how to handle them

 

Pascal left me with the same impression froch always does:decent fighter,big hart,very beatable. I just watched a guy give away a world title. Pascal is like a poor mans Shane mosely. Every single time Chad decided to throw bombs pascal just stood there. Why the hell did Chad spend 10.5 rounds throwing that lazy range finding jab instead of going forthe ko? It seems these young American champs constantly connect with trainers who turn them into excessive jabbing holding losers. Pascal will get lit up by bute or glen Johnson or cloud. Chad needs an offensive minded trainer to help him be more aggressive and use his speed to punish opponents instead of outpoint them.
