Pascal/Dawson should have been expected

Before the fight, I made the prediction that if Pascal was fit, he would beat Dawson. What was suprising to me, was that even though Pascal was in horrible shape for most of the fight, Dawson couldn't capitalise. Pascal looked very rusty and unfit. Possibly carrying a bit too much muscle, I'm not sure, but this was certainly not Pascal at his best...yet he still beat the guy rated number 1.I did think that Pascal would have too much for Dawson who is far too inactive for the majority of rounds and that was how it turned out.

I like Dawson a lot but he's very overrated. Most had him in the top 5 P4P, yet he never really showed excellent ability. The Adamek fight stands out but that was against a weight drained fighter.

On a sde note, those same fans who call Froch a caveman and praised Dawson for his incredible skills must feel pretty sick now. The primitive, wild, slugger outboxed and outfought Pascal. The silky smooth, incredibly talented Dawson lost the majority of rounds.

 

I'm not smug or anything. I just like pointing out how wrong fans are sometimes.

 

I made this thread because I hate all that ****. Dawson is a good fighter - I do think he's overrated, but all this talk of him being a hypejob or whatever is wrong. This was a matter of styles and Pascal was pretty rough for Dawson stylistically, which is why I thought Pascal could win.

I say "could" because I was, to be fair, sitting on the fence. I did think that a fully fit Pascal was too much for Dawson though but, as it turned out, a non-fully fit Pascal was also too much.

I enjoyed the fight though. I'm looking forward to the rematch.

I think extra muscle is ok as long as it isn't forced. Once the person goes over the natural limit to their size, they're going to struggle with stamina.

I think Pascal did. I expected that to happen and him look rusty, but I was suprised at how Dawson did very little.
