Amir Khan and his 'Glass Jaw' - Chin Checkers, put your ass on the line

Ortiz has a glass heart and will probably quit long before he lands a flush shot on Amir Khan's glass jaw.

 

Look at roy jones. In him you see a fighter who nursed a glass jaw to the HOF!! If Khan can utilize speed and athleticism early in his career (as it is still early IMO) I think he can go far, but the INSTANT he slows down and gets tagged, i think you can write him off as a force. Maidana will knock Khan out IF khan lets himself be hit squarely.

 

Exactly. As soon as his team are FORCED to take a fight with a heavy hitter, it's OVER for GLASS-JAWED CON!

 

Why do you only realise this after the fights are over and you have seen yet another prediction turn out wrong?

 

ANYONE can potentially shatter Khan's glass jaw. Heavy hitters, however, are almost CERTAIN to do it. That's exactly why Khan and his team don't fight them.:yep

 

Why?

Surely anyone who can land a punch can accomplish the task? So the most likely to do so would be the person who is most able to actually land punches, not the one who theoretically hits hardest.

You're just all over the place, one minute it's a glass jaw, next minutes he hasn't been knocked out because he's only fought light punchers, one minute Malignaggi will knock him out, next minute it needs Maidana-type power to get the job done.

 

Well we will find out in the next fight as Khan will have to face one of these big punchers, there is no where for him to go now.
If Kotelnik is such a puff puncher why did he give Devon Alexander so much trouble with his power, especially at the end. Khan took Kotelniks punches well. I will look forward to seeing how he handles it to be honest it will be good if he proves alot of people wrong, inclueding me.

 

Roy Jones probably never had a stellar chin (to say the least) But he took on huge punchers, and avoided shots from them. Eventually, when his refelxes slowed a bit, he got caught. End of.


Khan has taken a different route to "nursing his glass jaw" to notoriety. He is just not taking the risk of getting in the ring with these punchers in the first place.

 

The difference is that Roy Jones was STUPID ATHLETICALLY GIFTED, possibly the most physically gifted boxer in history. Amir Khan's athleticism on the other hand is flavor of the era.

 

Khan is an awful fighter with no Chin. None. He can't fight for ****.
