What do you guys think of Golovkin in the amateurs VS Bute and Dirrell?

this dude should have turned pro earlier. what a beast. he would have been on p4p lists by now.

I still think he has a big future in front of him, but he needs to take a lot of fights and quickly progress his career. this is the issue with super storied amateur careers, they take up too long of a fighter's career and the transition between pro and the ams can take too long for a fighter to adapt to real-time ass beating.

I want see him join the super middle weight division.

 

prime example although i think he still has hunger: rigondeaux, what the **** can he do that he could have done? he's still a beast but he's like 30 now. he should have straps on his wall by now. i understand promotion bull**** but his career was legitimately derailed.

 

Wouldn't you say that, right now, both Bute and Dirrell would beat the s**t out of Golovkin?

 

Rigo turned too late at 30 but turning pro at 23-25 is fine imo. Universum is what's screwed Golovkin up untill now. I ****ing hate Universum.

Golovkin's run in the 2003 Worlds is the most impressive one i can think of

All those guys were A+ fighters

 

Yeah, Universum screwed him over. They put him behind Felix Sturm and Sebastian Zbik (lol) on their priority list. He was never going to get a title shot there...

 

Golovkin is a great talent. Good defense, good speed, good power, good counter punching.

Blame North American media for not giving him exposure.
