Jeez. Give the guy an opportunity. With the January 25th fight it will have been three fights in six months while he is waiting and negotiating for a shot.
Shamrock, I train with monty on the shore, and Joe often stops in to help the guys out. He is a great guy and I often go to shows with joe. Just thaught id ask your opinion of him as a trainer, I think he'd be close to one of the best in New Zealand. He has been training Freddie Marshs boy Caleb who is a very good fighter. He trained Mailata for his comeback fight against Schwalger and Sei stopped him in 1
He needs tuff competition with Friday, Lawrence, Hawkins types. And then to contend after fighting one of the tuff journeymen. Otherwise, it's deja vu all over again in 2008.
It is confusing who controls Caleb Marsh, there are several claims to him. Obviously Caleb began with Joe over on the Shore but Northside have laid a claim to him as well as Mckay at the National Champs. Northside pulled Caleb from a matching with a boy from Whangarei at a Shamrock Assn tournament on Sep8 at Lagoon Drive, Panmure. Joe is a great guy but he seems to get sidelined sometimes where it counts. The latter part of this year it is obvious Joe did not have control of his boxer in matching nor in preparation. Shamrock Assn would not interfere with another coaches protegee. Joe would be welcome to pay us a visit.
