On this Sept 11, Mexican IBF Champion Orlando Salido will battle Cuban OLympic Gold Medalist, World Amateur Champion, WBA World Champion Yuriorkis " El Ciclón de Guantánamo " Gamboa. The question is this: Does Salido have any chance at all of beating the Cuban knockout artist?

Salidos a solid contender and he's been around for a while, but no way he beats Gamboa.

Yes maybe a better chance, ( like around 5% chance )...:-(

Don't worry, Rojas escaped now but sooner or later he will have to face Yuriorkis! :scaredas:

    Ouch !!!

Not a chance. Sure Salido is tough, but that will just allow him to survive past the 6th round. He dosn't have the timing to catch Gamboa nor the boxing skills. Yoriorkis will stop him somewhere in the late rounds.

I agree, all Mexicans are very tough and come to battle but Gamboa's natural talent, speed, ability, athleticism and power will be too much for Salido. Good fight and learing experience for Gamboa, but Gamboa will be IBF World Champion come Sept 11.

You guys dont seem to know much about Orlando Salido, you guys are just assuming hes a tough, but slow mexican brawler. Actually he has solid boxing skills, decent speed, verygood power and a good chin. Im not picking him to win it but he is very dangerous and very capable of pulling of the upset. Especially if Gamboa comes in looking to blow him out, bad idead if thats Gamboas plan. Even money and ill pick Gamboa but if i were in vegas i think id lay a few bucks on Salido figuring he will be the big underdog. And im actually big on Gamboa and see him as a future star, i just dont see this as a walkover for him.

ok ok...lets ignore the steroids... SALIDO beat the crap out of ROBERT GUERRERO!! remember?? thats the way he fights...forward, witha solid puch...if GAMBOA has the "glass jaw" everyone talks about, then ur in for an upset...but i doubt it...YES he has a chance, a big one two...but i think SALIDO'S aggressive style makes him available for a GAMBOA cross or hook wich will lead to an early ko, probably on round 3

i know one thing for sure...he'll drop gamboa in this fight
salidos a ****en warrior...maybe can't match gamboa with skill, but he's definately up there in the tough/warrior category.....

and dont forget that salidon aint seen the canvas in about 10 years all while facing elite fighters....

Naw compadre, I know Salido. His boxing skills and speed are not up to par with what Gamboa brings to the table. Salidos best bet is if Gamboa tries to brawl or gets too reckless, but I doubt that will go down. I know Orlando has a good chin, but I can't see him taking too many flush shots from Yoriorkis.

I would like to see Salido land a flush shot upstairs or to the body just to see how Gamboa reacts to it. But I think Salido will be one step behind Gamboa and overwhelmed by the speed. :bbb
