Resume, shmesume! Bute would beat the bricks of anyone from 168-175!

Oh wait! I forgot, he ran out of gas in his first fight with Andrade, three weeks after being diagnosed with anemia. I guess those looking to hate the guy will always have that trump card/albatrose(sp) to suckle....

How can you tell you're a fan of Bute and say such a thing?
Bute would be behind Allan Green?

Peope should understand that face a top and lose doesn't make you climb the rankings.

Green has lost against Ward and would be ahead of Bute? Are you out of your mind? AA has 2 SMW fights: one win against a shot Taylor and one loss. That's all his resume in the category and he would be in front of Bute. Why?

Dirrell has one win and one loss in the tournament. That's not a very deep resume. He would be ahead of Bute?

I'll stop there. You have a case for Ward, Froch (who has a loss) and maybe Kessler (who has 2 losses on his record and only one good win in the last three years). But come on, to say that Bute is behind EVERY super six fighter is plain dumb.

You're right, all people are only talking about resumes to rank fighters. Resumes don't win fights.

let's see what you did with Bute's resume, I'll do with Ward's even more easily

    Kessler - Calzaghe
    Green - Miranda
Miranda - Pavlik, Abraham, and Bute all ****ed him up Ward couldn't get him out.

No but the quality of a fighters opposition says alot - not everything - but alot about the quality of the fighter.

I don't think there is a clear number one in the SMW division right now and Bute's promotor is not helping the matter by making Bute fight mandatory Brinkley next.

Bute is extremely talented and should be a force for the next few years. But i really cannot understand how anyone can place Bute above Froch and Kessler, let alone Ward.

In my opinion Froch, Dirrell and AA would all be undefeated if they had fought Bute's opponents, and Kessler would have dispatched them all as well. The guy has beaten Bika, Andrade (the second fight im counting) and Miranda? At best the guy should be at number 2.

He should fight whoever exits the supersix, whether it be Froch or Dirrell. If he beats either, he should climb t at least three, depending on how Kessler progresses.

If someone has to explain to you why many people consider Lucian Bute the best boxer in the SMW division, just stay quiet and watch more boxing.

How can you be top of the division without beating anybody near the top of the division? No question he's there abouts, but he can't be #1

Well, we agree then. Resumes show a lot, but they're not the only thing.

I'm starting to question myself on Bute's promotor, but he really had no other options at SMW for the moment.

i wasnt discrediting his wins so to speak, or hyping up ward im just saying that with regards to the rest of the competition.

calzaghe isnt round so thats irellevant with regards to the point im making,
miranda had already been in with all those and lost before bute so thats a great point nigel
green probably still has more legitimacy than the brinkinator.

i dont think u saw the point in what im saying it was no direct comparison between the two

i was sayin how does he deserve no1 spot

Green was just a " NAME " that's all. He was good enough to make the bottom of top 10. Green is not as good as Bika, Andrade, Taylor, Miranda. He's on a par with Magee, Stevens, Mendy and Zuniga(at 168). Yes that's where the mighty Green belongs... with those guys.

According this same "My opinions are facts" logic: While winning comfortably against Kessler, Ward lost by DQ for multiple intentional headbutts. Therefore, Ward has absolutely no legitimate wins and shouldn't even be in the top 5.

Its really easy to destroy every boxer's resume. You just need a little bit of bad faith. Ward, Bute, and Kessler have the resumes to be justifiable at the top spot. Most websites have Ward and some have Bute. It's all fine with me until they settle it. Those websites also factor displayed skills in the equation and the ease of their wins, which is why Dirrell is so high with a weak resume, only one big win, by DQ, in which he was KO'd.
