After reading this thread one realizes that boxing, and the life of boxers is the most cinematic of all sports. You could make 100 Oscar level films about the lives of various great boxers.

The best names that come to mind for me are Duran, Tapia, and Hagler. Duran and Tapia would make awesome action-packed films if done right and Haglers would make a great story on how long and hard he had to fight to finally gain respect as an atg, and then had SRL steal it from him and not offer a rematch so he walked away from the sport. Just my .2 on what could be some great films

Salvador Sanchez - A great steady and difficult rise to the top then everything dropped and broken in the final minutes of the movie.

Carlos Baldomir - From a poor street duster seller in the heart of Argentina to the welterweight champion of the world and a respected athlete.

Kostya Tszyu - Running away from mother Russia in pursuit of his dreams to become one of the highest regarded 140 pounders in history.
