This is Toney from about a year ago. Just to give some of you an idea of how he is looking.

James looks good for sure these days. I'm telling folks he's a ****in PROBLEM for anyone in any kind of fight if James is focused and in shape. Randy may win but he'll be giving Toney much deserved respect for how ever long it lasts and if Randy isn't careful James is gonna put his lights out!

He got caught and stunned there. If he OVERestimates how little reflexes he has left and Couture catches him with those small gloves on......Oh lawdy lawdy :patsch :rofl:rofl:rofl

    Somebody didn't watch the video.

He looked pretty average, against a journeyman at an Indian casino in Temecula.

 Someone didn't read the original post. He was pointing out how James looks PHYSICALLY now vs then.:good Definitly not one of his best performances but it's kind of hard to get up for a "greer" when you're a James Toney. Ali had a few bad performances in his day against oppostion he should have dominated. It happens in the fight game.

If 9 months ago Toney made a genuine decision to use boxing as his core style but absorb as much MMA as he can then his punching ability makes it interesting for sure.

I hope he comes in under 215. The lower the better. The faster, more agile, more conditioned he is the better.

I just hope he has spent 9 months grappling everyday.

I want to see some technical work from him otherwise I'm just trying to make a calculated guess.

Agreed! James with his hands are always gonna be there through pure instinct......but the grappling he's got to learn and do it fast. I think James is a sponge and he's picking up this form of fighting quickly. He won't be the best on the ground but he'll be able to handle himself. The problem is how much was he able to pick up and can he overcome Randy's lifetime of experince on the ground and over 13 yrs as a PRO MMA fighter. It's an uphill battle but I think James is capable of doing himself proud by making this competitive where everyone thinks its gonna be a blow out.
