Grant has the look of a champion. He is just too damn nice!

 

It's a huge size difference between the two fighters and if Grant uses the jab right, Adamek will have issues.

Grant looks relaxed and healthy. He's not as jacked as he was before and I think that might be a good thing so long as his cardio is still good. He's got plenty of size and his training should've been focused on tailoring his game & strategy rather than building muscle.

I'll be rooting for the underdog, though u gotta think the cards are stacked against him. Also respect to Adamek for making some good hw fights (rather than getting in line w/ monte barret to earn a shot). Even tho Grant isn't considered even a top 30 hw right now, he should be a good challenge for any smallish hw so long as he doesnt' have Teddy in his corner

 

Adamek will shatter that glass jaw my friend. This fight will likely be over quicker than his fight with Golota.

 

Asking "glass jaw" clowns like rico questions about boxing is a waste of time. I'm sure he has an account on a video game forum so he can ***** about how much sports games suck, and account on a cooking forum so he can whine about how lame frying pans are, and an account on a banking forum so he can talk about how the bond market blows, all without ever having played a sports game, been in a kitchen or heard what a bond market does. He's a know-nothing gotard flamer, just like all of the other ****s that go on and on about "glass jaws". If you want a worthless throw away line about someone's chin, go to him. If you want to know something about boxing, go to anyone else in the world.

Why hasnt Micheal Grant been pushed to fight for the title after his loss to Lewis and why did he accept this challenge if he had no intentions to move up the ladder? After the loss to Lewis he has fought nothing but chumps, so nobody cared about his career or maybe he himself didnt care much about it.

 

I assume you know all this. But hell I'll give it a go anyway.

He spent 15 months out after the Lewis loss due to tearing his ACL in that fight (probably the third knockdown). He was due to comeback in Jan '01 but was diagnosed with dangerous blood clots in his shoulder which required further surgery.

By the time he did come back it was against McCline. He was dry as a bone (thanks Teddy), still mentally not together and fractured his ankle going down from McCline's first shot. Another 7 months or so out.

Atlas racked him up 5 fights to rebuild in 2002, another couple in 2003 then the Guinn fight. It was seen as a 'crossroads' bout, and Grant lost in 7.

Since then it's been sporadic fights as neither HBO (embarrassed) nor Showtime (happy to poke fun at HBO) nor promoters wanted anything to do with him. It's not like he hasn't tried, more to do with it being difficult to get back on that ladder when you've been shoved off it and no-one's interested in letting you back on.

It's to Adamek and Main Event's credit that they decided to throw Grant a bone.
