Dirells Uncle/Trainer says pulling out of SuperSix a possibility

Goosen is a pratt. Can't fault Dirrel and his team for taking a stand when Ward's promotor has the audacity to try and force a third hometown fight through.

 

I think Showtime would sue the pants off Dirrell. There are probably significant repurcussions for dropping out without a damn good reason.

 

It's kind of obvious both Dirrell and Ward want to leave the tournament under any reason to jump on board with HBO.

 

Maybe Dirrell has a fight in mind against Bute?

 

This will be very short sighted for Ward/Dirrell.They will be in litigation for the next 2 years with Showtime.:deal

 

I can't see either guy pulling out and most of this is rumours and negotiating scare tactics. Both guys are under contract to see this thing through so if they pulled out they would be sidelined for several years while everything went throught the courts. And, this is still a great oppurtunity for them. They are guaranteed big fights if they keep winning. If one of them win the whole thing then they will be in position to make huge money when the tournament is over. Their fight might be delayed but I think they end up fighting sometime this year.

 

this thing is exactly why they can't run these kinds of brackets because you get primadonas that don't wanna hold up their ends fighters that get mad they can't compete and leave
all sorts of wacky **** happens

"It still ain't made yet. The money has got to be right and it's going to have to be in a neutral venue, it ain't going to be in Ward's home town. This is a superfight, the biggest in the tournement and a fight people want to see, 50-50 split would be great, but we just wan't it to be fair. If the moneys not rigth there will ne no fight, period"


Ward says

"All of our money was set before we signed our contracts. We had the mzimum we could make if we continued to win and your money is reduced if you lose, but it's different for each fighter. But the money was already locked and set. I don't understand the whole 50-50 thing because becuase he was going to get the same money whether he fught me this fight or Arthur Abraham. After the fight with Allan Green everybody had a verbal agreement that it would be a neutral territory. Dirrell said Oakland is out of the question and they have to understand too that Detroit's out of the question because I'm the champ. I think Vegas is the natural venue."

 

Well that is certainly hypocracy at it's best. Kessler was the champ and he went to Oakland. Froch was the champ and he went to Denmark. But Ward gets a title shot in his own backyard and has his next fight at home on top of that he want's his third fight in neutral territory? What a douche!!

I like both Ward & Dirrell but this news sucks....
I hope they work it out.

Even tho deep down inside I always knew this might happen, I don't think They really want to fight each other due to their freindship.
