I have the exact same I think, -2.5 on my right and -2 on my left. Dont wear contacts in the ring though Im considering it at the mo, its gotta help. Besides that was 3 years ago, my eyesight has probably gotten worse. Anyone else, specially those short sighted experience more sensitive eyes? ie getting tapped in the eye hurts extra more, If I get scraped good I cant hold back the tears so its pretty bad. Maybe soft contacts and the eye drops keeping it wet will stop it from stinging so bad when hit there.
Yeah. When I even get lightly hit on the eye with contacts in it hurts quite a bit, kinda like a scratch. It goes away pretty quick though.
Possibly, but I won't wear contacts for sparring anymore. I don't really need them, plus I just heard a bad story about someone's lense going behind their eye. They had to have the eye taken out of the socket to get it out :scaredas:
Of **** that, I was thinking soft sports contacts but you just completely put me off it. Shame. lol. I thought if anything the soft contact lens will help protect the eye from stinging so much, cos the surface of the eye does not directly get hit with the glove, instead it hits the soft lens which in turns pushes into the eye but is soft and moisturised enough so that it dont sting. Amy, is it possible to get those eye drops and just use them without the contacts? Can you buy them from the shop or do you need prescription?
Lol! Im -9 something in one and -10 something in the other. My eyesights so **** nhs give my tests for free as im above the threshold
Well, I'm like you I HAVE to wear contacts or I can't see Right eye: -9.00 Left eye: -9.00 If you're going to box, I suggest you get some disposable contacts so you won't have to worry about walking around blind for another pair to come in
Im -2.5 and -3.0 I dont box at all but I seen everyone posting their prescriptions so I just had to post mine.
I used to have Acuvue Oasys Toric. I couldn't go more than 2 days on 3 different pairs without them ripping. Weird, others have reported to have the same issue. I am now looking into Air Optix for astigmatism. And I LOVE my regular soft Acuvue Oasys.
I only wear mine for boxing (and only if I'm sparring or competing). So only a couple of hours at a time and not ever day. Maybe that's why I've had good luck with them so far, don't know.
I get that a lot :/ Because of my vision, I was disqualified for my Air Force physical and now need a waiver to join.
I was about to post my: Right eye: -6.75 Left eye: -7.0 BUT.. you win... lol I'll spar you without contact lenses.
