Possibly. The "Rosario effect" did change Camacho's style overall but he would still fight back at times. Dawson fought back in the 11th when he hurt Pascal but that was too soon. I haven't seen Adamek/Dawson in awhile I'll rewatch that. My "Fights I need to Watch list" was running low so thanks.
Yes, I think you're right. Dawson fought Pascal in a manner that minimized risk. Even though the straight left and the left uppercut as Pascal was charging forward were the punches Dawson needed to throw he was reluctant to do aything except paw with his jab and throw combinations when he knew Pascal had gone into his defensive shell and would not counter him. Low risk, low reward approach. It was only in the 11th when he had either had gained enough confidence or the prospect of losing on points really dawned on him that he put his balls on the line and had a real crack at Pascal. The fact that he made such easy work of Pascal when finally stepped it up a gear makes me think that he was scared of taking risks early, perhaps for the reasons you mentioned. Gotta say though that the advice he was getting from his corner was just ****ing terrible.
Yea huge difference in the two fights, Dawson just seemed like he wanted to paw his jab at Pascal and throw a few combos every now and then.
He looked the same IMO, Pascal was just much faster and gave more movement than Adamek. Even in the Adamek fight you can see he pauses before he attacks at times but while Adamek stays in front and let him get off, Pascal was moving and avoided punishment.
