Sherdog went from objective MMA media to full on ZUFFA shills, and they do this while they are (once again) banned from UFC shows.

Its all a matter of recognizing that the WWE...I mean ZUFFA is the only game in town, and if you want to make money you have to stay on their good side.

A few years ago, when Pride was still around, you would still have some objective journalism, but now everyone just cheerleads every monthly UFC PPV. Its no longer news, more like advertisement. But hey, most of the fans don't seem to care so why should I. They rather cheer on their UFC heroes while discrediting any other promoter/fighters fighting outside and hoping for their demise.

I love how people cling to Pride as some great beacon of truth and honesty even though it was a yakuza front who originally secured success by fixing fights and often paid unestablished fighters more to lose than win.

The MMA media (sherdog) blew it when it came to the Pride scandal, they just completely ignored it until it officially died.

    MMA media = glorified bloggers/fanboys.

  4. Right bro.

Lets have a quick look at Zuffadogs website as of now shall we?

    MMA HEADLINE
WEC 50 Bonuses: Four Fighters Pocket $10K
    WEC 50 Results & Live Play-by-Play
WEC 50 Payouts: Cruz Earns $22,000
Hornbuckle, Blackburn Hit Marks for Bellator 25
Edwards In, Escudero-Wiman Co-Heads UFC Fight Night 22

MOSTLY ZUFFA NEWS HERE IN THE MMA HEADLINE.

    FORUM

The Heavyweights: UFC and WEC - the the top
The Contenders: Worldwide MMA - the bottom

So Zuffa products have its own main link, while the other promotions are all clumped into the OTHER category like they dont matter or are a byproduct. Zuffadog obviously decided NOT to have
    -American MMA promotions
    -Asian MMA promotions and
    -European MMA promotions.

What they have is Zuffa and others.

What they cover is their choice and probably dictated by access, staff interest level and the performance of different types of coverage. I would be willing to bet that traffic of UFC coverage dwarfs coverage of any other MMA promotions.

Also, if Zuffa owned the company why would Dana make all of these public denouncements of the staff?

    March 09 - http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2010/3/22/1385572/ufc-indefinitely-yanks-sherdog

If Zuffa owned the site wouldn't they want their top MMA site to have access to their events?

Do the math Bro, there is no business connection between the two companies.

It's like the 9-11 "truth" (conspiracy nut) movement.

Throw endless amounts of **** ideas out there in the hope that something sticks, pay no attention to the obvious flaws with the conspiracy theories, fill in the blanks with absurd assumptions, and ignore all contrary evidence.

They talk about what people want to read.

Pride used to be in the heavyweight section, but then they folded because of their general lack of ethics, so that theory doesn't make much sense.

  8. Who said anything about Zuffa owning Zuffadog? What people have been talking about is that the site has become very much PRO Zuffa and has basically become the second arm of Zuffa's PR machine. Again people are not saying that theres any business between the two.

Everyone knows that Dana and Zuffa was pi$$ed of with Sherdog at one stage. Their pass was revoked when they wouldn't pander to Zuffa. In recent times though all these have changed and people (im not the only one) now think that Sherdog has become Zuffadog. This shows with their uneven coverage and even selective coverage of MMA news, and even swapping MMA with UFC . confusing MMA with UFC is at worst biased or at the least NOT GOOD JOURNALISM, something obvious and basica like these shouldn't happen.

    Looks like you.

  10. Lol you crack me up.

  11. Watch this youtube video and see what I mean, especially when he talks about Jake and also the Zuffadog top ten list, how those working for Zuffa automatically gets rewarded with a top ten while those who are more deserving but are not in bed with Zuffa gets absolutely no mention. Clear double standards.

Exactly what were you implying if not that Zuffa owns Sherdog indirectly?

  13. Where did I say that it was owned?

Its quite clear though that Zuffadog is very much in bed with Zuffa now. Heck even look at their own forum and see their own forumers complaining of the very cuddly relations.

Also please explain the different treatment of Zuffa v non Zuffa fighters, explain the uneven news coverage of Zuffa v non Zuffa events, explain the biased top ten P4P ranking for Zuffa fighters, and explain the biased division ranking for Zuffa fighters.......................

Like Ive said, they might not be owned but they certainly are in bed with Zuffa.

Like I always say, show me your rankings for comparison.

    Nice fingerless gloves, bloodstain.

  15. Ask B/S himself, his list might include top international fighters that many Zuffadogs might not even know about. You see many Zuffa fighters are popular but not necessarily the best in their division. With the garbage that passes as journalism nowadays, many journalists doesnt even know/cover international fighters and bouts........instead they rely on the ramblings of a promoter who is clearly promoting his fighters.
