In no order, for me Sakuraba vs. Renzo Frank Shamrock vs. Kevin Jackson- *given the execution of the armbar, and Jackson's hype at the time, Shamrock was something special back then* Big Nog vs. Crocop Wand vs. Rampage II Liddell vs. Randleman- Enter Liddel
I thought it was the first one that had the ko with rampage koed hanging in the ropes. or was it their second fight im confused:nut
GSP vs Matt Hughes III Randy Couture vs Chuck Liddell I Shogun vs Rampage Jackson Jose Aldo vs Mike Brown Anderson Silva vs Rich Franklin I Thats just 5 right off my head.
penn vs. sherk ... penn definitely impressed me a lot, schooled the pitbull-like sherk and ended it with a flying knee. showcased the underrated stand-up of penn.
hmm i always thought Penn has pretty good standup b4 that fight. Maybe he looked really good because Sherk can't box for shiznits
Both boxing based strikers primarily and doesn't help that Sherk has the shortest arms in the division...
Sakuraba vs Vernon White & Carlos Newton were 2 of the best technical matches Ive ever seen in MMA from a grappling point of view - both ending in submissions in favour of the great Sakuraba (armbar on White & kneebar on Newton) Vitor Belfort (pre Couture) & Frank Shamrock`s UFC displays were all fantastic too.
He also beat Rampage on the ground back in Pride. He was the only man to beat Rampage on the ground nobody else ever did it until Rashad got those few crappy take downs but I don't see that as Rashad beating Rampage on the ground. So basically Sakuraba is the only man to ever dominate Rampage on the ground.
Cung Le vs Frank Shamrock GSP vs BJ Penn 1 Lyoto Machida vs Shogun Rua 1 Fedor vs Nogueira 1 Maurice Smith vs Mark Coleman plus one Sakuraba v Royce Gracie
