I'm in the same boat. If gran-pa Hopkins cannot mesmorize Carl to not throw then it will be a rough night for Bernard.
Froch is going to win that... B :hop is too far past his prime. And I'm serial about that! :deal [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9wmczxnT3c[/ame] Simply serial!
Froch faster then Hopkins? Froch swings to wide to land on a fighter like Hopkins. He doesnt have thes skills or coordination to ever put a glove on Hopkins, plus he's a defensive seive, Hopkins would tag his ass all night long.
People are forgetting that this is not the Hopkins of old we are talking about, it's not even the same Hopkins who fought Kelly Pavlik. Hopkin's looked awful against a shot, weak Roy Jones Jr. I think he is far too past it to beat a young guy who will pressure him and has the power to hurt him.
Even though B-Hop is dirty, Froch can play in a mudfight too, made me really curious who will be dirtier
Hopkins takes this. Stylewise, Froch is PERFECT for him. Not much hand speed and even more importantly, low work rate. He'll get to fight his usualy Sunday stroll type fight. The guys who gave Hopkins trouble are guys with hand speed and a somewhat unpredictable style (Calzaghe, Jones, Taylor). Hopkins will be able to deal with Froch, maybe even via schooling.
Hopkins would terrorize Froch. Bernard has one of the best lead rights in the business, and Froch uses his left hand to gaurd his glass knee cap. Hopkins has one of the best counter rights in the business, and Ray Charles could see Froch's jab coming. Hopkins moves with precision, efficiency, and well thought out intentions. Carl Froch, for all his strong points, is clumsy as hell. Froch had a long and difficult night against Dirrell, and lost to Kessler. BHop pulls a win out of his ass everytime he is not suppose to. Let me remind you AGAIN. The Ornelas fight was a paid sparring session that just happened to be on TV. The scores for Hopkins/Jones were 118/109, 117-110, 117-110. Old Man River ain't shot.
Prime Hops, no doubt. Even the Hops that beat Pav would take it. But after watching Bernard's last two efforts, there's nobody in the super six he could beat (with the possible exception of Green, and that's a 50-50). Time for him to hang'em up.
Your absolutely right but your ignoring two other important facts. 1. Froch is not very good. He lacks basic skills. 2. Abraham is going to knock Froch's head into at least the 12th row of the stadium. Without a head Froch is not boxing anyone.
Well, i think given the recent turn of events, that's somewhat expected. Froch looks better everyday with his win over Pascal and he put up a very good fight against Kessler while Hopkins has fought Jones and Orneleas and has aged even more. I think there was a poll done about this fight about 2 years ago and it was a landslide for Hopkins. I still pick Hopkins but i can see where these people are coming from.
