Nothing earth shattering, but an adventurous 24 hours for me...
My friend and I,were in our late teens after seing the Ike Williams /Beau Jack slaughter took a bus from Philly to Atlantic City...It was about 5 AM
when the bus dropped us off in Atlantic City, and we exhausted from the traveling and the exciting fight, decided to see the famous AC boardwalk
before looking for a room to shower and rest...About 6AM a police car arrived while we were on the boardwalk, and the two cops came out of their car with guns out, and roughed us up quite a bit and threw us in the car without an explanation...They took us to the station house, told us to shut up, "or else"..A couple of hours later, without any food or information
threw us back in the fliver, and drove us to a house where an old Canadian couple was assaulted and robbed of their Canadian money by
two guys who fit our description...Well luckily we had no Canadian money
on us and finally releases us and told us to either get a room right away
or we would be arrested again for vagrancy...It was about 11Am , and we were two tired to look for a room ,so we decided to take a napn on the beach first...Well we took our nap which lasted for about 5 hours, and
when we awoke we were so sunburned, we bought a couple of jars of
Noxzema, slathered it all over ourself, went to a dance at the OLD Steel Pier, on the boardwalk, and wrere promptly rejected by the girls, because
of the Noxzema odor...Defeated we took the next bus back to New York
sunburned and broke....But we did see the great Ike Williams and Beau
    Jack...So it was not a total lose...b.b.

Maxie Rosenbloom, if not showing mercy (for such a devastating puncher) certainly showed compassion to fellow fighters during the Great Depression, by carrying fighters, so they could earn another pay day asap.

There's good reason to believe that Barrera carried Johnny Tapia during their fight even if Marco would probably deny that.

George Khalid Jones against Scottland. Too bad the ref didn't listen.

But Maurice Blocker and Simon Brwon were allegedly best friends as well, but Brown showed no mercy...

I think Tapia was probably good enough to here the final bell against Barrera, but I can understand why you may feel MAB carried Tapia.

I think best friends should take the Frazier/Norton approach, and not fight!
