After watching the video i gotta say that i am impressed, you did well and this was only just your first fight, even though you lost you put on a good performance and it could have gone either way. Just keep training hard and this fight probably helped to motivate you so your next fight will go even better (Y)
You did a good job. Both of you. Basically you were a little slow starter. You didn't make any great mistakes it was just your opponent was more offensive at the first round and he pilled points. Second round was pretty equal but you had clearer points.I prefer your style and if the fight was 4 rounds and you had more rounds to understand your opponent's style better you had great chances winning that one. Next time try to have sharper punches and not allow your opponent take the lead. If he is bending try to straithen him up with uppercuts. At 4:12 you had him at the ropes and you let him leave. You could try harder at that point. As I said before you did very good especially for first fight!
Bull****! I personally thought you won Sweet. Nice right hand in the 2nd round. Awesome. Try for higher energy next fight. Punches in bunches. Hopefully I'll listen to my own advice! You got balls for even stepping in there, don't be too hard on yourself, just channel it into dedication for training next time. Try not to overanalyze yourself as well, you did good.
SweetScience, I have some troubles with your video, because I can't watch it until the end. However, I want at least to tell you: congratulations for getting into the ring! From the comments by the other folks from the forum I think you've done fine. Maybe I'll get into the ring, too, in some weeks/months. Can you tell me (and other beginners) how it feels the first time in the ring?
Well if you have been sparring in your gym, IMO the sparring sessions in our gym are worse than the actual fight itself. My advice to you is this: The night before the fight, try to get as much sleep and dont be nervous. I was nervous the night before and on the day itself. But when I stepped on the ring, it was gone. However, not getting enough sleep affected me I think because I was gased out. So try to get as much rest as you can.
