I'd support a Marquez fight against a legitimate Welterweight because it would demonstrate that he is pursuing a fight with Pacquiao - which I still think is a viable fight given their history of two razor thin decisions.

I agree with you about Pacquiao's weight, I'm just going off what some of his fans said when it looked like a fight with Mayweather was about to be made, personally I think they were getting their excuses in early but there it is.

As for this one, I wouldn't see Pacquiao beating Marquez at 147 a thing to be proud of in a similar way to how I don't see Mayweather beating Marquez at that weight as a great victory, what I would say in Mayweather's favour was that he at least had the unknown factor of Marquez at 147 going into the fight, of course there was a very strong chance that he would be out of his depth but there was also a chance he could do what Pacquaio and Mosley did when they made the jump up from 135 to 147.

Pacquiao on the other hand now knows that Marquez can't compete at 147 so any fight there would be a clear situation of him taking advantage knowing his opponent can't cut it and it won't make up for him not giving him a third fight when he should of straight off the back of the controversial win in their second fight.

He shouldn't be blamed if he doesn't dominate Marquez like Mayweather did. Pacquiao doesn't exactly fight like Mayweather to be blamed for anything. Two completely different fighters.

Arum has decided that he wants all in-house fights and is going to justify his decisions using shakier and shakier logic rather than state the truth. I, for one, would buy Pac vs. Marquez 3 (especially if it is fought at 140 or below). I will NOT buy Pac vs. Margo. But Arum would rather make 100% of a little than 50% of a lot.

What are you talking about? Pacquiao or Arum aren't taking advantage of Marquez. The simple fact that Arum wants Marquez to fight Berto first shows that they WANT to know whether or not Marquez can still cut it at WW. If not, then they wouldn't fight Marquez.

There's no taking advantage here, mate.

:huh Most everyone fights with demands. As for JMM and Shane, which one of the two has WINS at WW. That would be Shane, the former WW World Champ. Poor example. JMM has not a single win over 135.

Arum is right, JMM needs to show he can fight at WW if he wants Pac. Other wise lose lose for Pac.

Even though Berto is the bigger man naturally he just doesn't have the defense or, believe it or not, the power to keep JMM honest. While I do see Berto being able to possibly disrupt Marquez' timing and back him up with that 'Hit and wrestle' bull****, I don't see anything but a close decision victory for Marquez.
