Who's trying to distort facts? I scored the bout favorably for the fighter who was showing superior ring generalship, landing more often than his opponent, and who practically went 12 rounds without getting hit with one solid punch. The idea of scoring punches that missed just doesn't make sense to me. It's nonsensical.

Hey JETSKI! I wish I had known your number. I have your card, but I was coming back from vacation that day and went straight to Newark pretty much. Would have loved to have a drink before the fight.

I enjoy watching Adamek fight. He represents all that is good in boxing today. He takes risks! He wants to fight the best and he wants to put on a show for the fans. What's not to like about the guy?

I do think his run at heavyweight will eventually end badly because he simply isn't a heavyweight, but no matter what happens it sure is fun to watch.

If Adamek had the size and physical strength of Golota, he would own the heavyweight division. On the flipside, if Golota ever had Adamek's mental strength, he would have ruled 15 years ago.

Watch it without sound and with replays. The crowd went mad for blocked punches and jabs. Haye didn't score ****, he barely even threw ****. I hate both Haye (as a person) and Valuev (as a boxer) and I scored it a draw (had Haye winning when I watched it with sound and no replays). Many rounds could not be given to either boxer, because nothing really landed. The only really decisive round was the twelfth.

Soi true about TA & AG.

We had a draft beer at the bar...$8.50 & mixed drinks were $11/12.

We will just have to see what Adamek can do when the action gets tougher & that is coming soon.

    :good

I'm not going to watch it without sound and replays because I never watch fights that way. I scored the fight for Haye even with Watt trying to convince his audience that Valuev should be awarded rounds because Haye didn't land enough punches...when the giant wasn't landing anything either. Even despite Watt's nonsense, I think I had it like 9-3. The right man was awarded the victory, and it may forever baffle me how some found six rounds for Valuev. Well, it's not all too baffling, Haye is frowned upon in the General.

Well you couldn't award them to Haye either because he didn't do ****, and didn't land ****. Valuev was ineffectively aggressive and Haye ran like a ******. That's a 10-10 round in my book unless you randomly assign them to the fighter you happen to like.

    I too scored Haye-Valuev a draw. Incidentally, I also scored Chagaev-Valuev a draw.

Haye landed next to nothing. A few power punches. BUT! Valuev didn't land PPs at all. However, Valuev's jab was the punch that landed with the most consistency throughout the fight.

I think Haye won, but meh, I'm not rewatching that ever again.

Haye demonstrated cleaner punching and better ring generalship in virtually every round. The rounds where not much was landed, I still found the showier work to be coming from David Haye. I think Valuev was dejected at the end of the fight because he knew himself he had lost the fight, despite it being held in Germany.

I had it 118-110, but I need to watch it again. I'm surprised by the number of people who did not give Grant the 8th round, but did give him the 12th. Over-all, it seems like no matter how you slice it Adamek won a clear decision, which is nice considering the number of absurd, "robbery" threads we see on ESB.

That's my point, he didn't. Ring generalship is not the same as the running Haye did, he'd have to be punching on the move for that to count and he did no such thing. Aggression without scoring doesn't count, and neither does "ring generalship" without scoring. If you call what Haye did ring generalship you're easily pleased in terms of strategy. He ran. There were several rounds in which he did not even attempt to punch until half the round was over. What a general.

Seriously do a few replays, most of Haye's punches were so wide that Valuev managed to duck inside and got hit with an arm instead of a fist, or he just blocked them. The number of actual clean punches landed can be counted on two hands, for both fighters combined.

I'm content with where I currently stand on the issue, and for reasons that need not be explained, I'm in no hurry to rewatch the contest.

Appreciate your opinion and insights, though.
