Boxing is why better dont start the hate 1. UFC fighters is big movies 2. One major sanctioning body the UFC . All the others are to small. Pride and K1 are big in Japan. UFC is more appealable to Europe 3. A UFC card had better fights is regards to rivalries and calibre fighters 4. UFC has more terrestrial air time ( this is the case in the UK dunno about the US) I could go deeper but I gots work in the morning.
none of that its simple the best fight the best in mma (the fights u want as a fan happen) and fighters are incentivized for making entertaining fights
MMA is not winning. It's only a refuge for all the redneck, peckerwood "Hulkamaniacs" who found out rasslin' ain't real.
UFC is good to watch now and again it has nothing on boxing, soon UFC will be dead it hasnt goyt the longevity or the history to compete with it, there sport is desperate for crossover stars its unbelievable, so much so that they have a former multi time WWE wrestler as heavyweight champion.
1. Big movies? They are in big movies do you mean? 2. Boxing needs 1 sanctioning body...but UFC/MMA is still not winning. 3. UFC cards are terrible, the main event is all people tune in to see...pretty much like boxing, except boxing cards are better. And UFC/MMA is still not winning. 4. Probably true... UFC/MMA will run out of stars soon enough. The big names in the sport are nearer to being classed as OAP's than they are teenagers. They are running out of ideas, this is why they are trying to create this rivalry between boxing and MMA (getting Toney on board)...in truth there is no rivalry, and they will never compete with boxing. Will they survive alongside boxing, probably...but compete/"win"...NO.
Trying to convince hardcore boxing fans of anything other then "boxing is the best" is a waste of time, because they blindly believe that regardless of what is said/presented. Nice try, and some okay points, but just a waste of time in the end.
The UFC might be free in the UK, but those 15 or so shows are $50 or $60 (HD) here. Boxing is also on a lot more free TV in North America and the UK (I don't even live there and I know this) then MMA. Lets also look at the fact that there are still 10x more boxing shows with 10x the participants then MMA around the world. Take a look at the boxrec and sherdog schedule. MMA is 'dying' in its former stronghold of Japan, nothing much is happening in South Korea (which was one of the only new markets recently), nothing has happened in Europe or anywhere else besides America/Canada. Has the UFC 'taken over' the UK with their one show promoted there all year long? I like MMA, and it is growing...obviously since nobody even knew what it was a few years ago. But it has no real positive or negative impact on boxing, if you are a real boxing fan you would never stop watching it. MMA has its own fanbase, and 95% never watched boxing, most of them are the same type of fans WWF had 10 years ago.
How is mma winning? Winning what? 1 Boxers have been in big movies too. 2 How is mma system better? the ufc is by far the biggest org out there, its not really a better system its not really a better system having one guy control the so much of the sport. even compared to the very flawed system boxing -even the most harcore boxing fans would not defend, dana white calling all the shots might actually be worse. Klitchkos huge in Europe is anyone in mma making the money they are in Europe. 3 Ufc card arent nessesarilly better but the fans are more aware of the fights and can follow the fighters easier it is true that many boxing cards have been weak recently, drawing primarily on the main event. I like some cards that have a couple prospects on the under card personally. 4 Here in the us there seems to always be boxing on if you count old fight then boxing is even farther ahead. almost every week with FNF then HBO has usually a couple fights a month Showtime does as well especially with the super six and shoebox. then thers the fights I always miss on telamundo then other fights overseas that you gotta catch on other channels and ****. damn its hard to keep up. senkoku didnt air here could you watch that event? I always have to find individual fights on youtube.
The best fight the best in MMA. Yes, the majority are in house but it is only VERY recently that boxing started making big in house fights. Even then, its a ****ing struggle to make an in house fight in boxing.
