Seriously now, wlad is taking his mandatory defence so you cant knock the guy, even though his opponent is shite. but then you have haye fighting harrison vitali fighting briggs adamek fighting grant povetkin fighting noone solis fighting some bum it is pathetic in my eyes, considering these are some of our highest ranked heavies, why the hell arent they fighting each other? harrison, yes it is a big domestic fight but outside of english fans, who gives a ****? briggs, when was his last decent victory? what has he really done since he outpointed foreman? grant, what has this guy ever achieved? he beat golota but got dropped by the first punch mccline threw, and got spanked off lewis! then you have povetkin and solis, supposed big prsopects who just wont fight top 10 opposition! i know the likes of vitali, haye and adamek have achieved good things to date, but is that any excuse for this **** round of matchups? i think not!
Why did you include Adamek vs Grant on your list? That fight was no disgrace to watch & plus, it was a good move to see how Adamek would fair against a giant, although he is a fairly shot giant. It was still agood test for Adamek. Now Team Adamek can continue to work on new techniques for fighting these huge monsters.
I'm not a Solis fan , but Solis has been running his mouth about and no one seems to be listening. So I don't think it's fair to knock solis when noone wants to fight him. Especially Povetkin. Povetkin seems to refuse to fight anyone with power.
Unless you beat someone ranked in the top 5, you shouldnt even get a title shot. Chagaev has an elimantor against Meehan? Thats pretty awful. I dont understand how any fighter can get a title shot without beating at least two guys in the top 10. Some didnt even beat one ( Kevin Johnson, Sosnowski, Gomez).
Ironically, Meehan was ranked #1 at the time. But isn´t it more ironic that Haye is fighting Harrison when he now has Chagaev as a mandatory?
Yup. Thompson is a much better fighter then Harrison. Hell both Thompson and Dimit are better fighters then Harrison.
Can't really diss Vitali, nobody wants to fight him. Briggs was the only guy out there calling out Vitali and actually willing to fight and that's pretty sad--everyone is scared of Vitali it seems. Also, can't fault Sosnowski and Johnson as opponents...both were deserving of a shot and most importantly wanted to fight. Whatever happened to fighters reaching their prime around age 25-28? There doesn't seem to be many challengers in this age group atm. Of all the recent Klit challengers I think Arreola might have given the best fight...one-sided as it was. Someone under 30 might have that extra bit of legs and energy to put pressure on the champs. If Wlad gets past Peter, maybe he should consider offering a shot to a younger fighter. Someone like Pianeta, Helenius, or perhaps the winner of Platov-Pulev or Sexton-Chisora. Would any of these guys be willing to fight?
