I agree. He didn't need that bulk when he beat Lesnar the first time. I thought that 255 frame from their first fight was good for him. He should stick around there or a little lower.

You are commited, I will give you that. But Frank for all his good qualities is arrogent as **** as soon as he does well.

Mir should not lose to Mirko at this stage, at all. Although I think Mirkos TDD is still ok enough to stop Mir taking him down. So I think Mir will win on his feet.

What's the point in Mir winning and setting himself up for another schooling by Lesnar or Carwin?

First of all, Carwin is a suspect roider now. Who knows what he has hidden in that closet of his.

Second of all, I wouldn't exactly call what Carwin did a "schooling". He didn't put on an exhibition of amazing skills and outclassed Mir. He did what he is known for. And his Wrestling was of no use when he tried to use it because Mir stuffed his takedown, and that was where the problem was. He said he got to excited when Carwin couldn't take him down. Mir is still a better Fighter. That's not even debatable.

Third of all, he beat Lesnar. Its not like it can't be done again. Its certainly not impossible. Still till this day, he's his only loss. Carwin came close, but close wasn't close enough. He lost:deal Mir is still smarter than Lesnar. That's never to be ruled out.

Kongo took Mirko down. I'm not at all worried Mir can't put him on his back:bart

I would love for CC to kick Mir in the head so hard he thinks he fell of his motorcycle again.

Yeah but if Mirko has any sense and he does. Mirko will be specifically training to avoid the ground.

Also it was one of Mirkos worst performences for a loong time.

If your going to have a love affair for a man...... perhaps choose someone who is a bit better than Mir (it wont be hard) - your setting yourself up for disappointment.

    Really?

Mir broke a prime Tim Sylvia's arm within the first minute.

Mir is probably the most explosive submission specialist in the game.

Mir is the only man to beat Brock Lesnar.

Mir is the first man to stop NOG.

Sure he's taken some losses, but name a fighter coming off as severe a leb break as him and still performing at the level he is when he's focused. As far as "setting myself up for disappointment" how would I be doing that? I've followed him since his debute in the UFC. I've seen him win and lose. Its the fight game and it happens. Hell even Fedor took a loss recently. It is what it is. In all honesty, when Mir is mentally right, there's not a lot of guys that are better than HIM:deal

The rest of your comments say nothing of substance really - Comparing fedor to mir, no. Most explosive submission specialist in the game - no.

'when mir is mentally right, there's not a lot of guys that are better than him' man... seriously I know you obviously like the fighter but you cant make up hypothetical scenarios to make and argument that proves a fighters worth and secondly even if Mir achieved this state of enlightened mental capacity you speak of, there are still plenty of HW's who are very capable of beating Mir...plenty.

Mir has some good wins in his career, but then some of the guys he has beat him...If the Cro-Cop that came vs Pat comes to fight he gets beat. He have Pat way to much respect and same with Pat to Cro-Cop. This is a more of a Due or Die fight for Cro-Cop. If he can't beat Mir then just hang it up now.

Lets not forget Mirko is not an easy guy to take down. His Def is up there....knows how to stuff the take down. The thing that made Mirko Cro-Cop one of the best was the speed of his leg kicks. They have been slow in his last many fight. As much that I am a fan of Mirko Cro-Cop, and dislike Frank Mir, this one has the works of that Mir is going to win. What make Cro-Cop a top Fight was speed in his legs and hands..they arn't there anymore. We have seen in Boxing that once in a while an old fighter can turn back the clock, but I don't see it in this fight....Going with Mir, but Frank dose have some bad L on his record. Where is the English man to KO Frank?

If you read correctly, I never compared Mir to Fedor. I used fedor as an analogy. He lost. The person I quoted made it sound as if I was setting myself for disappointment. As if to point out to me Mir can lose. I aknowledged the fact that he can, and that he has. My point bringing up Fedor, was that its MMA, and he recently lost too. That's not a comparison. I never ranked Mir higher in regards of him being better than Fedor. I never matched their stats and pointed out something in Mir's resume that makes him better.

As far as making up hypothetical scenarios, I don't think I have. Mir's stats prove he's the most explosive submission fighter there is right now. Its pretty much what he's been known for, for years. His victories barely reach the 2nd round and footage will prove when he grabs hold of someone, he doesn't even need to have the hold in proper position.

The armbar he put on Tim was NOT in proper position, and he broke his arm effortlessly. The armbar he put he put on Tavern was bascially snatched as if he was aiming to rip Tavern's arm off (and tavern is a world champion blackbelt) That elbow lock he put on Pete Williams was not in a standard position, and he nearly ripped his arm off. The ankle lock he put on Abbott was also not in the best position, yet he nearly ripped his ankle off as well. The kneebar he put on Lesnar was also not in a great position as he was actually sitting on Lesnar's knee. And these victories actually all come in the first RD with time to spare. If he's not the most explosive submission fighter in MMA then please tell me who else pulls off victories like that.

And last, yes there are HW's capable of beating him. As I pointed out, its the fight game. Somebody wins and somebody loses, that's the game. But what you fail to aknowledge, is that Mir is ALSO capable of beating A LOT of HW's too... Plenty.
