Over three months have elapsed since their controversial draw, yet there is no news of either flyweight having immediate plans to get back in the ring this year. There was one rumor of Bayaar meeting a different unbeaten Brit in Paul Edwards in November but that doesn't seem to have solidified. Assuming the rematch does come together eventually, how do you see it going?
Sexton if i remember correctly asked out Chris Edwards last week and it was quite a refreshing thing to see. Respect, talk of neither having much on etc and it would be great for the fans and themselves of course, though i think promotional rights or something might have been a problem.......was what i remember seeing. Anyways, the response was equally refreshing and well tbh, nice to see such mutual respect....given the way some fighters go about calling out others these days.
As much as I like Bayaar and want to pound Sextons face in... Sexton UD. Hope Bayaar schools him again though, deserves it the little twat.
Sexton will come good. He is a good fighter with allot of talent. He needs 2/3 fights before Bayaar again and then he can win it.
I can only see another Shinney win in this one. Sexton looked totally out of his depth in the first fight. The lads needs to rebuild against better opponents.
sexton got no defence, was the same in the ams.but always like watching him fight.never in a dull fight.
If Sexton implements what he did in the last 4 rounds (i.e rough housing Bayaar) for the full 12, then he wins it on points IMO.
Baayar won the first fight so convincinly that it was, at times, embarrassing. The problem for Sexton is that he isn't ready for Baayar yet but the lack of domestic fighters in that division means that he ends up with a title shot so quickly. It happend to Usman Ahmed, though clearly not someone with the same potential as Sexton, and it could have ruined his career. I think Bayaar wins by a couple of rounds in a close fight but Sexton wins the 3rd fight in around 18 months time by a big margin.
Big, big learning fight for Sexton the first time round. i think he'll be coming in a year or so wiser, more foccused and better prepared in the rematch and fancy him to take it by a close but clear decision.
over heard sexton on a beach in spain jus after the fight on his fone ...no stalker he was sayin he taught he done enough t win it was lucky to get the draw in my opinion but he might fair better in a rematch
Bayaar won clearly the first time, the cut was the only reason Sexton could finish strongly. I think Sexton needs to fight some better opponents before Bayaar again.
Bayaar again. He got jobbed. Sexon is a little rodent ***git who even had the cheek to say he felt he deserved the win instead of the draw. atsch
Think Sexton was far far too confident last time out, he probably felt after polaxing Uzzy in 1 he could pretty much do the same against any domestic fighter at that weight. We have to remember that Sexton was only 8-0 at the time and Bayaar is hard as nails. Sexton showed alot my making it to the final bell and at least showed some fight in the later rounds. I think people can forget how difficult the transition is to 12 hard rounds, especially when you've hard it easy like Sexton has up until now. I would personally like to see how Sexton does with Edwards before a rematch occurs, it should show whats he learned from the Bayaar fight and Edwards should take him 12 rounds again.
