I don't think so. Allan Green inherited Taylor's scorecard points from the Abraham fight in even of a tie-break. Obviously we have no way of telling whether he got the points from the win seeing as Taylor didn't, but I would assume he does. I may be wrong, have you got a link to this?

It's called a round robin stage of a tournament. It happens all the time in a wide variety of sports, and it works just fine. The point system is not a problem. Kessler pulling out doesn't end the tournament. So 1 fighter out of 6 pulls out of the tournament due to an injury and it's a complete failure? Congratulations you are ******ed my friend.

Besides, I'm sorry to break it to you guys, but Kessler was already soundly beaten by Ward and barely escaped with a victory against Froch. His leaving doesn't change the outcome.

Obviously it doesn't in a sport as physically punishing as boxing. It also takes up too much ****ing time in a sport where primes dwindle very quickly. Face it... a six man, point system tournament just doesn't work in boxing.

Yes it does. He had 2 points and would have been the favourite to beat Green, meaning he would have gone through.

Which means you either have to find a replacement ASAP who will take the fight on only 4 weeks notice, or push the fight back and further delay the process.

Or pay Green to leave, promise him a shot at the losing finalist or something and have only the semi-finals. To say his leaving doesn't affect the outcome is wrong, plain and simple.

It leaves them with a huge dilemna over what to do. Personally, I am in favour of making Froch-Abraham and Dirrell-Ward the semi's and getting this mess over and done with. The top guys have all shown a willingness to fight each other by entering this, so get this wrapped up and let them do it free from the restraints of a tournament.

Sho will learn a lesson from this mess.A single knockout tournament is the only way to go.Win you carry on-lose you are out and it allows the losers to carry on with their careers, instead of being in limbo.

Thing is if there were one overall sanctioning body rather than GBP, Top Rank etc we could have all the main men fight each other.

    Pac (No1) v Mayweather (No2) DONE!
    Khan, Bradley, Maidana etc DONE!
    Haye v either Klitschko DONE!

They would have to fight each other in order to climb to the top spot in their division or they would drop in the rankings. 1 weight = 1 world belt/champion.

Mayweather do you want to be No1?... Of Course!
Pac do you want to remain No1?... Of Course!

    Deal done get it on!!!

If Mayweather wont fight Pac he drops to No3 and the new No2 gets the shot.

If Pac refuses to fight Mayweather he drops and No2 and No3 fight for the top spot with Pac getting a shot at the looser.

All this in house fighting with Top Rank balls would be put to rest also.

We wouldn't need these quality of fighters seen in the super 6 fighting for peanuts as had Kessler, Ward, Abraham etc become the NO1's and No2's of the division and climbed a structured ladder of fighting to get to the shot at the top everyone would know them and have followed them from some point.

How the hell does Mayweather and Pacquiao factor into Kessler having an eye injury?
