    I disagree on all fronts.
    1. Bute being the only "good" fighter in the division is just plain silly. It blows my mind you would reference "Hometown Bull**** decisions" and this cat in the same breath considering he was blatantly KO'd yet allowed to continue and given a win. Either way to say he's the only good fighter in the division is just wrong, simple and plain.

    2. It was a close fight and while I would have favored Dirrell, it was hardly a "robbery", it was a close fight that went the way it went.

    3. Jermain Taylor was the former undisputed MW champion, he had legitimate name recognition and marketability that the tourny needed. He is a bigger draw and had been on the biggest of stages, Bute has not, period. Allan Green was a "hot name" prior to being destroyed by Ward and many were calling for him to replace Jermain, so while you may disagree and others may fall in line after the fact, in the context of the time the decision was made this wasn't a bad selection.

    4. I guess, but the case could be made it was the bottom third of the tourney that dropped out, I don't necessarily think this to be true, but they both had lost already, and in the case of Kesslar his only win was a (gutty) questionable decision that could have went either way. Even though I felt he won, he didn't exactly dazzle in his win. So, I really don't see what all the fuss would be about in this regard. The guys were injured it happens, but the four best performers thus far are still alive and very much in the hunt.

    5. This just isn't true and again demonstrates that you are simply trying to push an agenda but doing so without much merrit. AA got caught in the heat of the moment and made a mistake that cost him a fight, it happens, but Ward hasn't been penalized a point to my knowledge, much less acted in a manner to be characterized as "deplorable".

    6. "Meaningless fights", how do you arrive at the conclusion these are meaningless fights? Ward-Dirrell or AA-Froch are very interesting fights and fights that I would venture to say you wouldn't see if they weren't in the tourney. Prior to this you have seen Ward and Dirrell establish themselves as top tier contenders and/or champions in this division, AA solidified himself and answered some questions that some may have had about him with the win over JT, Froch and Kessler have also had a platform to showcase their abilities and make a name. In reference to Bute, he is not the "big dog" of this division...I mean based on beating the guy who had knocked him out in their previous fight, and a win over Edison Miranda? Excuse me if I'm not ready to annoint him the choosen one at this point. I don't want it to seem as if I'm discounting him either, but I just don't feel as if he's any better than the four guys remaining in the mix.

Again, I just think you are off base and I couldn't disagree more with your overall position.

this fails for too many reasons to list.
And as a whole, anyone bitching about the tourney is just complaining for the sake of complaining. Would it be nice is Bute was in? Sure. Is it disappointing that Taylor fell out? Yes. But alot of these matchups would have never been fought had it been left up to individual promoters and managers. It would be impossible to think that this whole thing would go off without a hitch, but as a whole it could have been alot worse. I'm sure if they do anothe one in a different weight class they will learn from a few mistakes, but for ****s sake enjoy it. Oh and "bull**** hometown decisions" would happen with or without a tournament.

i think the tournament sets a very high standard for boxing as a whole. look at all the talk of a welterweight, junior welterweight and cruiserweight equivalent? a tournament like this, despite it's flaws, is tremendous for the sport. the flaws are very might minor when you look at the scope of the super six. other than bute, no major problems

I know who is fighting, and yeah they are all top tier as they should be. The fights have been great for both the fans and boxing, but the length of the tournament is killing all that is good for it.

    I disagree

The super six tournament pitted top fighters in the division against each other and it yielded in some very entertaining fights.

I am a fight fan, I like entertaining fights. Super Six is wonderful to me.

Lastly, most of your points are horribly flawed hopefully other boxing fans will point them out to you if they haven't already.

It was a failure from the start! Only one belt remaining! LOL! It all started with the 3 Europeans - 3 Americans BS and some of these guys proved themselves only at middleweight or not at all (Green ;))...
First invite all the belt holders and only then the other guys!
After years and years of S6 at the end of the tournament we still won't know who is the best in the division with Kessler and Bute missing.

imagine if any other weight class tried it? it'd be awesome. they'll work out the kinks but the balls these fighters have to enter a tournament which ensures a strong chance of losing is impressive

Killing all that is good? Boxing fans are a hard bunch to please. :patsch

I don't see how it can be a failure when it brought the best 168 fighters together in a ring :S :S :S :S.

just look @ the HW crap we have to put up with with Vagina Haye; the S6 removed would obstacle. Imagine Admake, Arreola, Valuev, haye & a Klit in a tournament.
