There's a lot of peopletalking up the LWW division, with some even claiming its the most stacked in boxing. Just wondered how everyone would rate Hatton's chances if he were still in his prime
Of course there is more to Bradley, but i really dont think he would have had the ability to deal with an agressive Hatton. For me, Timmy's win over Witter wasnt that great. I actually scored the fight for Witter even with the knock down (may have been bias). Dont get me wrong i like the guy, but i honest think Hatton stops him late on
among the top 4 i think he beats Bradley and Alexander pretty handily. Maidana has a chance to KTFO him just because the guy is a ****ing pro at trading in a hitting match. Khan might be able to outbox him and clown him for 12 but he could also get his **** rocked, so there's that.
I got the point of your post completely, brought back the Hatton hype days, I was referring that comment to the people who mentioned that the current 140's would destroy Hatton in his present state prime 4 prime Hatton would beat them all, Hatton-Maindana now that would be great one for the fight fans
Ooh ok got ya :good To be fair, a few lads that voted said they read it wrong and thought i meant Hatton against them now. Prime Hattonbeats the current lot IMO. I'm surprised people have said Maidana could beat him. For me Hatton destroys him. Ortiz had him down and was winning on points until he quit. Maidana is game as they come, but Hatton stops him. I'd love to see them go at it now, providing Ricky has something left to give which I'm not sure he does.
A prime Hatton had head movement, amazing stamina and a good chin, a lot of things that didnt seem paticularly present in his last few fights, that prime version of Hatton would beat all the top current 140lb fighters, no doubt at all.
A prime Hatton would lose a competative UD to Bradley, a wide UD to Khan (but theres always a possibility he finds that chin) and beats Alexander senseless.
I don't see it that way. Bradley's better at nip and tuck on the inside than Hatton is and a hell of a lot better than Alexander and Khan, his conditioning is superb and he has good powers of recovery when he's hurt. He's also the first guy I've seen in I don't know how long who can fight aggressively on the bounce. Not saying Hatton wouldn't win necessarily, but I think from purely a styles standpoint Bradley's the tougher challenge next to Alexander and Khan. I can see Hatton tearing him up in Manchester where he was allowed to get away with an awful lot but in a bout where the referee doesn't take any **** I can see it being very competitive, that's how I see it at the moment, we don't know Bradley's limits yet. I thought Bradley beat Witter comfortably even without the knockdown, and I'm one of the seeming few who really like Witter.
yeah but Witter was a shadow of his former self by then, it was that fight that confirmed he was done, he was slow, lacked pop, movement was poor. A Witter from 2 years previous would have comfortably handled Bradley
Not quite, Hatton struggled with Collazo at 147 and it showed he had no business in that division. He peaked just before Tszyu.
Agreed. I was a big Hatton fan before his fight with Tszyu. He was a merciless body puncher with much better movement and a much more swarming style than when he fought Tszyu and after, when he started his wrastlin and got away from body punching. He and Cotto were both the best body punchers in that time. Shame Ricky got away from it. I always thought Sharmba Mitchell would have given him a helluva fight though, would have loved to have seen that.
