The original compubox for HBO had Kotelnik landing more punches.

I laugh when people use punchstats as "evidence" that their fighter won.

Big Bone -- you have repeatedly used Compu-Box numbers to make irrelevant claims about certain fighters. I better not see that **** again!

I used Compubox for example to see how Hopkins' stats had changed over the past decade. Even if the system is flawed, the method remains the same over the years, so you can compare a certain fighter's own statistics and you can put things into perspective. Arguing who won with stats is a whole different thing, I thought you'd get it reading the first post but I bet you didn't. With Compubox becoming manipulated lately, it's time to get rid of it, because it doesn't make any sense anymore, it's just creating confusion and false information.

It was mentioned that there are other punch stat services!? Anyone know what they had for the two matches of the OP?

I agree that punch stats should go.

and at the end of the day the cumulative compubox stats mean nothing, since boxing is scored on a round by round basis. a fighter can conceivably out land his oponnent over the course of the fight according to compubox, and still have lost more rounds.

Compubox was once again totally manipulated by HBO, the dude behind the machine counted 161 Shane Mosley punches landed while it was 93 on Sergio Mora's side. That's not the fight that I saw, therefore I'm calling for anyone who had Mosley winning to count HALF of 161 = 80,5 punches landing by Mosley (and I mean LANDING) as I don't believe he even landed HALF of the reported amount. The system totally failed once more, so did Herold Lederman, Mora clearly outlanded Mosley and bested him in 12 rounds, but HBO that "loves Mosley" (quote from Merchant) told the viewer a different story, and guess what, several posters here simply repeat what they heard or read on screen.

Believe your own eyes and rewatch the fight without sound or looking at the manipulated stats, and you'll see Mora clearly doing the clean effective punching in the entire 12 rounds. Compubox once more was manipulated by higher powers in favor of the network's fighter, and that is cannot be tolerated anymore!
