Just for kicks here's three nobody mentioned yet:

Malignaggi-lunging jab-fast and controls distance, he uses it like a fencer racks up points in a fencing match

BHop-when he wants to-see his fight against Echols for how to use a jab when you're hurt and trying to survive

Winky-very hard jab and uses it often

you can also throw Sturm in there... the guy as many knocks against him, but his jab is a thing of beauty.

    Wladimir Klitschko
    Sergey Dzinziruk
    Amir Khan/Cotto tossup

I wish Cotto would use his jab to set things up more intelligently... With Steward he seems to have become more of a standup boxer and I'm not sure that's where his best strengths lie.

I actually like that he uses it offensively as much as he does, it sets up that 2 and 3 of his very well from the outside. He does those DLH lungy type jabs that fully exploit his reach, but he manages to sit down on it pretty well despite that. I dislike the sit back in the pocket jabbers like Wlad, it works for him with his range and the pop but the best lefts are more versatile.

I was extremely impressed with Khan's jab vs. Malinaggi. But I still think Wlad is #1.

Wlad - Great Jab has a tree trunk for an arm very lethal
Cotto - Very nice powerful jab hasnt got the best reach but makes full use of it
Khan - Beautiful Jab still a work in progress definately has the most potential.

P4P i would say the best jab belongs to Cotto because in most of his fights he doesnt hold a reach advantage and still manages to fully utilize his jab takes alot of skill.

there are no height-classes...you might as well say khan's jab was nothing special because he's rangier than paulie or dirrell's nothing special because he's taller than his opponents
