1.Addie.Better pic,now you're starting to make a believer.I'm still of the mind that she is above average at best. However, she does have a radiance.Sort of girlfriendy.

2.Plaster in the gloves is no different than me beating you with brass knuckles.Have you ever heard of LOUIS RESTO?

3.Cotto was a beaten man,Hatton was a beaten man,Clottey proved he isn't a man and Oscar weighed half a man.Manny's record before them is where the ground is solid.

I'm still to be convinced of any real advantage that would be gained by putting a small amount of powdered plaster within the gauze wrapping your hand. Surely there is too much movement, and not enough moisture (or time) for it to set.

In previous fights, if there was a significant amount of this substance, you'd see crumbs of it fall out the gloves when removed at the end of the fight. Even if it was well contained at first, after throwing several hundred punches, it would surely be displaced and get everywhere, leaving powdery marks on the hands, and a mess where they took the gloves off.

If that was the case, it really was a stupid thing to do. Effectively loading your gloves in the eyes of the law, without getting any advantage of loaded gloves.

    :deal

And yet these are the fights that elevated him to "superstar" status. These are the fights that made people dare call him pound for pound King. The record 7 weight classes, the fighting "bigger" men. I don't question pre-Oscar Manny. He was a limited fighter that got beaten by two of the greatest Mexican fighters ever (yeah I said two). He was not a world beater. He was not #1 p4p material and in my opinion he still isn't.

This man has never laced up a pair of gloves in his life.

I have, and I agree with him.

I frequently wrap a sponge into my wraps. I don't think it takes anything off my punches at all. Nor do I think that inserting a hardened pad into your wraps would have an effect.

It doesn't add weight. You still have the glove over it, so I'm not seeing how the hard object under your glove causes extra damage. Remember--knuckles are hard objects as well, and everyone has them in their gloves.

What it might do is enable you to throw punches harder without worrying about hand/knuckle injuries. Which is definitely cheating, but not something for everyone to get all up in arms over. I regularly spar guys who use those knuckle protectors in their wraps. If you've ever used them, you know they're a less a pad and more a leather-wrapped hard-but-flexible surface. They protect your knuckles, and allow you to hit a bit harder. I don't notice any increase in power when they're used against me.

PED's are a much more severe offense, imo. They give you a huge edge by enabling you to train harder, longer, and more frequently. They can improve your punching power and stamina in and of themselves. This makes you a more dangerous person.

And the Resto incident is MUCH different. They removed the padding in the gloves over the knuckles. This means that the punches were basically bareknuckle, just handwraps and a thin layer of leather for padding. THAT is dangerous, and much more serious than a simple hardened pad.

And anyone that says the FLAT hardened pad is 'the same as putting brass knuckles in your gloves' is not thinking logically. Brass knuckles don't work by being hard. As I said, knuckles are hard. Brass knuckles A.) Add weight to your hand. B.) Act as a fist-filler and brace your bones, making your fist more solid and less flexible. C.) Most importantly, they concentrate the impact on a smaller surface, thus increasing the force/psi/whatever the physics term is for MAKES THE PUNCH HARDER. D.) The squared corners of most brass knuckles obviously will cause cuts much more than the rounded surface of your knuckles would.

I'm not saying Margarito didn't cheat and shouldn't be punished. I'm saying he didn't cheat as badly as most people want to believe he did. I guarantee you he knew about the pads. I just don't thin they gave him much of an advantage at all.

Just look at the injuries Cotto sufferd at the loaded hands of Marga Cheato if you want proof as to what type of damage can be inflicted ..

Its consistant with Collins injuries at the hands of resto ! This type of foul could have caused immediate and permanant damage ..Yet its funny that people are comparing this to steroid use :huh

And ironically you have ZERO proof Margarito ever had loaded gloves in a fight.

Just quit your bitching and enjoy the fight.

Of course it doesn't take a rocket scientist. He was bleeding cause he was getting the **** beat out of him by Margarito. By the way Pac also demolished Cotto's face. Does your gut tell you he was using loaded gloves too:lol:

Is this your way of saying that you really have no way of knowing it? And if you think Cotto's injuries are consistent with Collins'...I'm afraid there's not much anybody can do for you, as you are too far gone.

Read my post above. I know it's long but if I'm wrong about anything feel free to point it out. Or you can just shut up about things you have no knowledge of.

Very good points. If the man had actually loaded his wraps with plaster, you'd have never seen him take his gloves off and exposing his wraps for example in the Cotto fight.

The CSAC is in possesion of those knucklepads, and yet to this day they have yet to harden plaster hard, so I think its pretty safe to assume that what was in Margarito's knucklepad was something other than actual plaster that hardens like a cast.

Just wish people would be honest and educated in their statements and not say things like what Margarito was carrying in his wraps was the equivalent of brass knuckles.

I thought Margarito couldn't of loaded his gloves in the Cotto fight, due to the wrapping being provided, sealed and checked, by the state commission immediately before the fight? By all means correct me if my wrong there, as not being a particular fan of either, I've never really looked into it too much other than what I've read a while back.

Details about what exactly happened the night of the Mosley fight is sketchy, you hear different things, but at the time it seemed it was a wet pad soaked in some sort of plaster type substance. I just don't see how that would harden effectively, whilst being moved about and squashed when punching with it. Soak a sponge in plaster and squish it as the plaster is setting, it will turn into a gritty/powdery mess and not go hard. Even if it did go hard, plaster is very brittle (especially in thin quantities, which it would need to be in order to go unnoticed) and surely it would break up over the course of a fight?

I don't doubt Margarito knew about these wraps and tried to gain an advantage. I just think it's a stupid way of loading gloves, as I don't see it giving much of an advantage, whilst being fairly high risk of getting caught.

He's admitting he knew he took EPO before going to the grand jury in December 2003 (three months AFTER the fight).

He says "I guess, I knew it was something", but he and his lawyer claim that he didn't know it was illegal.

His lawyer, Judd Burstein, struck back after these videos were released.
