How did you score the fight?I had it 96-93 for Quartey with the point deduction in the 9th round.A questionable decision at best.

I watched this fight for the first time a couple of months ago and thought a draw was conceivable, I never saw the robbery in the decision that a lot of other people did.

Vernon Forrest RIP is vastly overrated.

He lost to Quartey in a close clear fight.

Ike never won a big fight and always got beat at elite level.
He was outboxed by Vargas and that showed he lacked the skills beyond a good jab.
still loved him however,he was a very stong but crude fighter with a thunderous jab

It was certainly close but to my recollection was clear for Quartey.

His only non-controversial losses are to prime Vargas and a much bigger Wright at the age of 37.

It would have been very interesting for Forrest and Quartey to have met a few years earlier at welterweight where both were better.

Well, I agree on the second point but losing a close clear fight to an aging elite does not signify that someone who gets Forrest's amount of shine as overrated.

He also lost to Mora the first time due to not taking him seriously. Great fighters have to be given some leeway and allowed a few imperfect nights. Any higher standard is unreasonable.

I watched that fight live. I didnt get to score it while i was there but Quartey clearly won that fight. It looks a lot closer on tv than it actually was.

I just watched & scored it like a week ago and had it the same way, 96-93 Quartey.
