Why wasn't there an immediate rematch clause in that Don King contract ? Did the King / Tyson team get too confident to leave those out ?

I agree, an immediate Tyson / Douglas clash was definitely needed, considering Tyson was the undisputed heavyweight champ !!

A Vitali vs Lewis rematch would have been huge !! Was it a case of Lewis not wanting to risk looking bad in the process ?

DLH running away from a rematch with Trinidad. Great ex. of cowardice in the sport... I guess he popularized it... it's a lot more common nowadays!

    Winky - Taylor

One of the biggest reasons why I hate Winky. Taylor wanted the rematch but Wright priced himself out. Would of made a $5 million too.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the first split was 75/25 in DLH's favor.
Don King, Felix and Papa Trinidad felt insulted by it, but the only way the first fight would happen was for Trinidad to accept that split........

Leading to the fight, Don King in the promotion kept emphasizing, "when Tito beat DLH, in order for a rematch to happen, the fight purse figures will be exactly as they are now, but in Tito's favor."

.....Bob Arum just laughed it off......

When DLH ran for dear life losing a decsion, Bob Arum was incensed at the post fight press conference of having to hear Don King yell, "75/25 Tito, and there will be a rematch.":lol::lol:

DLH of course never caring an ounce about real boxing fans, never even considered splitting the purse for a rematch, much less 75/25.........

All it would have taken for a rematch to have taken place was a 50/50 purse split, and DLH declined it.

If DLH has'nt already done so. He'll one day study his career and how it unfolded, and regret not having rematched Trinidad in the prime of both there careers when they could have done so.

The fact that that rematch did'nt take place is a slap in the face by DLH to every boxing fan of that era.

Cunningham-Adamek. If this were any other division, a rematch would have been destined.
