In these days there are much talking about MMA vs boxing.I am boxing fan but i also like MMA.Its two diferent sports and its not that important who will win.I see that some MMA funs talked bad things about boxing but boxers dont deserve that.In MMA,K1,THAIBOX and other martial arts sports boxing is most dangerous.Look at boxers at the end of their careers, they cant talk properly they cant walk properly and their brain is heavy damaged. They usualy dont become old of their age, actualy they became old because of their brain damage.Look at Couture at 47 and Toney at 42.Couture seems to be perfect normaly and Toney is obviously brain damaged. It is not that easy to taking punches in head during 8,10,12 or 15 rounds in 30,40,50 or more fights. So MMA fans give boxers credit for this what they are doing. They are paid better than MMA fighters but in the end they pay much more price. And Dana white said that Toney is brave man to step in MMA.Well Dana White boxers are very brave men and i am very angry when he talkes about boxing like much easier sport than MMA.
Paragraphs? Lol. Hard to judge really, more likelihood of getting trauma from strikes in boxing, but equally you have a greater chance of getting slammed and breaking your neck or some **** in mma. Boxers seem to have longer careers though, which may contribute to more long term damage. And more people have boxed and boxing has been around for a lot longer. Calling either sport easy is repellant when you consider how much fighters put on the line
Big gloves, mandatory 8 counts, standing 8 counts etc do not help boxers but actually hurt them. Boxing needs to become more explosive. Shrink the gloves, stop mandatory 8 counts and standing 8 counts are a ****ing joke too. Taking a knee has to be banned also as that allows a fighter to prolong his punishment. If you take a knee by choice then you have in effect yielded.
To be honest while I think boxing is more dangerous (and studies back this up) I think the main problem is the RIDICULOUS schedule boxers have. Toney's had 83 fights, plus 31 as an amateur. You're just not going to come out of that in good shape. In MMA, fighter usually only spend a limit amount of time fighting frequently on minor shows before they get to Strikeforce or the UFC where usually they'll only fight two or three times a year. So someone like St. Pierre has only 22 fights over an eight year career.
most modern boxers only have about 40 fights as a pro, james toney is not a characteristic to the sport. what about jeremy horn, or shonie carter, or shannon "the cannon" ritch these guys have alot of fights but its not typical of most mma athletes ohh yeah and Rickson Gracie. of course he easily won all his fights
