Yep, it'll be nice to finally get out of this Boxlull as i call it. I wait to see how many of those actually happen though. Btw hasn't Mike Jones v. Jesus Soto Karass been confirmed?
i thought the marquez v lopez was cancelled/postponed? I guess the injury to lopez's finger was bull?
Postponed to November 6 :happy Mike Jones will probably face Jesus Soto Karass. Is Kirkland out of jail or what?
He sure is. He comes out of jail Sept 17th. I for one am looking forward to seeing him fight again. That dude was a beast for a light middleweight.
Agreed, I must admit I'm incredibly excited about the fights later in the year, I count a good 4 or 5 possibilities for FOTY in that last. Expect some good domestic SKY cards in Nov/Dec too with the start of the season schedule lined up from them. Can't wait :thumbsup
I want to see Kirkland vs anybody. I dont know how that dude even makes 54. He looks like a light heavy and punches like one. He's not the best boxer out there but boy is he strong. Didnt he an Ann Wolfe fall out though?
Things are looking quite peachy indeed! starting this weekend and not slowing down from there, descentt!
She was pissed off to say the least when he got arrested. Don't know what's happened since. Kirkland is one of the most entertaining fighters around. The kind of fighter that can attract the mainstream. Let's just hope he stays out of trouble now
Kirkland-Angulo :yep:scaredas: That fight could become Fight of the Decade! Knockdowns and drama galore.
Oh, I forgot all about Kirkland. I was on that bandwaggon for a while. I can't tell you how long I waited for the second coming of G-Man. So in my heart I was hoping that Kirkland would've been the southpaw version of pure, unadulterated violence layed down by Gerald. But I just didn't see angles, boxing IQ, punch variance, punch variety and about 10 other intangibles that has me believing Kirkland will be anything more than a left H Lacy. TBH, G-man and James Kirkland have no business in the same sentence as i realised the more i watched Kirkland, who throws everything like its a KO and with no set up. I saw this one fight where Kirkland looked confused in front of a punching bag. Kirkland's game to me is like "McDonalds" its good while your eating it then later on you pay for it in the bathroom so i'll just call his fightgame "fastfood", LOL! There's no doubt Wolfe had Kirkland transformed into a machine with that Tyson type of mentality and must be pissed that he was dumb enough to get himself inside, but this ain't UFC or WWE. His skills needed some serious work and even more so now because there's not enough space to post all his "unsweet" habits. I heard where Wolfe drives a truck backwards for 3 miles with a bag attached to the tailgate, and the guy has to jog 2 miles backwards and punch that bag nonstop, for two f***ing miles! Hardcore no doubt. But with his incarceration and the fact the kid was "mad green" before hand means he needs to be handled as such for the next couple of years. Trying to match him against Angulo or Williams or God forbid Martinez would be the kiss of death. Like I said he has a lot of Lacy's bad habits and we don't want Kirkland to run into the ghost of a "Calzaghe" type where that heart gets viciously ripped out...and 26 or not, it's career defining like poor Lacy.
