be honest, I didn't know her myself but they were good friends of my mum and dad. She was a big part of the boxing scene back then when women weren't really involved.

A very important one on Glasgow qould be the Albany Hotel, which is where the St Andrews Sporting Club used to be based. In it's latter years it was the Holiday Inn before being knocked down a few years ago.

Shawfield Stadium which is on the border of Glasgow and Rutherglen hosted Benny Lynch v Peter Kane, one of the best title fights ever to take place in Scotland. The stadium is a dogtrack, but also used to be the home of Clyde FC for many years.

I read in Boxing News a couple of weeks ago that Alex Morrison is going to be promoting at the Central Station Hotel as this was a venue used by another promoter many years ago

The Royal Oak pub in Cardiff has a long time tradition for being a "boxing pub", and indeed is the home of the Jim Driscoll Gym upstairs.

I ve recently joined this site as a member which took me to the BBHOF website. The whole idea of a BBHOF is fantastic idea and long awaited, the website is certainly a great start.
Boxing is my passion, my grandfather was the late Teddy Baldock, World Bantamweight Champion 1927. I have recently published his life story and have a dedicated website

It may be of interest to this thread that my grandfather's ashes were interred in the Southend on Sea Crematorium Garden of Remembrance Area B-13. There is no plaque there at present but I am working on a project with Richard Barber, formerly of the Boxing News Old Timers page, to get one erected.
Finally Carl Payne the sculpter responsible for the Randolph Turpin Statue is now working on one of my grandfather to be erected in Langdon Park, Poplar, East London. As a tribute to Britain's youngest World Champion of the modern era. I am now looking to raise funds so any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Steve Bunce covered the project a while ago on his radio show and been very supportive.

Finally another place of interest worth adding to the BBHOF site would be the Tom Sayers plaque recently unveiled in Brighton

 

Went to the Blackfriars in london a few times last year for lunch and/or drinks when I was at uni in london last year as my uncle works round the corner. Never realised it was a boxing pub?

 

Theres an old football stadium (possibly QPR's old one) that alot of the old Scottish greats fought at in the 50's or so, mainly Peter Keenan its defunct now. And I cant remember its name.
