I think Pascal is a tad better than Pavlik though. Will be very impressed if Hopkins pulls this off. Maybe he's seen something he can exploit?
English Way, you're off your head to discount B-Hop. Fact of the matter is, we've been over this already loads of times. We know there is one of only a few scenarios that will play out. If it does get signed, I'll be convinced that Hopkins has seen something in Pascal he knows he can exploit. Full credit to Pascal if he can do what we think he probably should do to a Hopkins who seemingly cannot go the full 12 anymore, is on the wrong side of 45 and looked horrific in his last fight agaidt someone who really is shot to bits. As I said before, Hopkins throughout his career has had patches where people say 'he's nearing the end' as he takes on a challenge that seems nigh on impossible, only to leave us all dumbfounded with another beautiful example of 'The Sweet Science'. I think Pascal will win for all the reasons we've already been through, and I'm a big fan of Pascal so won't be too disheartened to see him win and will give him full credit if he pulls it off in impressive fashion. But to those who instantly think: Hopkins is done, don't count on it :good Still, Hopkins was pretty much signed to fight Adamek not long ago, I'm not holding my breath for this one and expect him to bow out after one more glorified exhibition.
Hops has a good chance. Think Chang vs Ohashi II without the furious workrate, pourous defence, immense drama and KO finish.
Hopkins wouldn't be touching this if he didn't fancy it. Not like it is a huge money fight or even a massive addition to his legacy. I think Hopkins outpoints him
Haha, I'm probabily more of a Hopkins fan tbh. I just give Joe C Wales his props and recognise his talent, unlike some.
I actually like sound of this fight. I think Hopkins is licking his sneaky dry lips about this fight. He knows Pascal gives him so many opportunities to land sneaky short right hand counters etc. This is the fight he craves and loves BUT Pascal has a warriors heart and brings speed of hand and foot and presents Hopkins a full fight for 12 rounds. Very Intriguing battle.
