Macklin -Lorenzo was going to be an eliminator for the IBF wasnt it? Lorenzos now fighting for the wba strap and Sylvesters fighting Oral. Anyone know if Mack lost his IBF ranking when he turned down the eliminator?

Would Warren not try and get someone in to fight Macklin as he could do with a fight to get the ring rust out he needs some rounds. If I was Macklin I wouldnt care about a fight with Barker and move on and get a elimator fight. As you dont know if Barker will ever be fully fit for the fight some time this year. It was a step back for Macklin in the first place now hopefully he goes for a World title fight within his next 2 fights and I will be happy.

Hold on a sec - didn't Rob Palmer say this only 2 weeks only to come back the same night and tell us it was all a mistake. I suspect commercial reasons were the reason the truth was temporarily put on hold and I can understand that but at the same time....
I mean think of the people that might not have booked flights etc to go to Birmingham if they knew this. I think he might have been contacted and told to shut it to prevent ticket sales from taking a hit. I mean he even had the exact injury. Maybe he can come on here and tell us if that is why he suddenly said it was all a "mistake" shortly after posting it!!

I agree cause it was barker who went mental when he seen it and told danny flexen to sort it!

jeezez guy's it only take 3 weeks to undo all the hard work it took (like 4 months) to get fit. 3 weeks of pints, steaks, and dunkin donuts did it for me. Back in training a month now and still can't get anywhere near fit and have another scrap coming in November which sounds like a lot but is actually only 8 weeks away. The guy's in our bc seem to only care about amateur boxing and most of them aren't really following the pro scene. Anyone else find this in bc's around the country?

Well we all said the 7 fights wouldn't all happen, but feck it why did it have to be Macklin/Barker that got cancelled?

What decent fighter that would be willing to take the fight on short notice could Macklin fight?

I was making a joke at the fact the EBU sanctioned him to fight Barker for the vacant title after losing his fight before that to Lee.

Boxrec is wrong plenty of the time, Macklin may still be fighting.

Barrett has been added to 11th Sept bill at the Stadium.

Wouldn't expect a great opponent since he too is fighting again 3 weeks later in Letterkenny. Still, its good to see that he will be busy. Think thats 10 bouts now on the 11th, so 4 yo-yo's per fight aint bad.
