Not Pacquiao's problem. ODLH had the option to fight Margarito but didn't. He picked Pacquiao because Pacquiao's name means big money for him. It would be more embarrassing if ODLH asked Pacquiao to go up all the way up to Jr. Middleweight when Pacquiao only fought once at 135.

    This is true.

Kinda like Floyd asking a career 130lb marquez, who was fighting at 135 jump up to welterweight 144, and Floyd still coming in at 146? Yeah Floyd paid Marquez 600k but damn that's just insane.

I believe this will happen in another fight. Pacquiao is testing waters at jr. Middleweight. Kinda like how Pacquiao went up to fight Cotto at the Welterweight limit of 145. If Pac looks good fighting Margarito, then Martinez would be next at 154.

Arum is a business man. Kind of Like Floyd but much much better at it. It's easier for Arum to make the fight. Boxing is business according to Floyd. This also applies to Arum and he's been around much much longer at promoting fights.

I wanted the Cotto fight to be a 147. This one at 154 too, but I think this catchweight could actually make sense. Marg's been at 147 and 154 at different points of his career. He probably started having a bit of trouble making 147 for Mosley, so meeting between 147 and 154 is ideal. Why not? Forget the belt. I don't care about that, neither should anyone.

Rehydrating pounds over night just doesn't magically make you feel better after you spend all of that time damaging your body to make weight. You're still missing a lot of essentials from the body that just aren't possible to get back within a day, besides the actual pounds that you lost.

My problem isn't with the draining...it's with the catchweight for the title. I have no problems with catchweights...but to win a title were neither man can come in at the maximum weight limit? :huh

LukeO, titles had been a joke for more years already that I don't even know when it started. What are you trying to imply?

At least they are fighting without the issues of PPV, purse splits, PEDS. Do you think that is good for boxing instead of fans talking incessantly about who should be getting the bigger ie, who is roided and not, who is wearing a plaster or not, who is gay (Mayweather of course).

Issues aside, this is a fan-friendly fight, like watching matador kill a bull, or a gladiatorial fight. Fight vs. no fight (example vacation), which is good for boxing?

Because once you ask a man to meet you at a catch weight who is naturally bigger than you, you are doing something to him. Why not just fight for the 154 lb title with the limit being 154?

Yeah and Freddy Roach told everyone he saw needle marks on DLH's arms meaning he was IV'ed a saline solution because he was so badly dehydrated and thats when he knew they would stop him.

Freddy must havemade that up because the Wild Card gym was getting too crowded with fans so he wanted to make Pac's win sound less impressive to get some more space there.:nut:nut

    Marg is a career welterweight.

Pac is letting him come in 4 pounds over his usual limit.

They're using 8-ounce gloves, like in a WW fight.

    Marg won't be drained.

That being said, the belt on the line is bull****, and Marg even without the plaster scandal doesn't deserve this fight, seeing as how he got KTFO in his last major fight.
