I do agree with you but the European Title holder is always there or thereabouts when it comes to a shot at a world title. Yes normally after a few defences but this is a big money making fight so it makes sense for that reason.... That is the only reason though!
can't wait, people knock this fight, but i like harrison, he's paid his dues deserves his chance, and he's going to upset the applecart, infact turn it upside down, go on a force.
Spot on, word for word. I was a Haye fan, in fact my favourite fighter. I'm done supporting him the moment this fight is announced.
I was a big fan of David Haye, seen him fight twice and also ended up watching Klit - Chag and now if he fights Audley i would very disappointed.I know his trash talking antics were great for publicity and helped get him the Valuev fight but it has also pushed him inti a corner with regard to who he should fight,he can`t go around calling the Klits opponents bums then sign to fight Harrisson. He would be a laughing stock if he lost but he would only have himself to blame. It`s still not signed at the mo so i can still hold out the faint hope he will surprise us all and announce something else,i would love it if he was stringing Audley on along like he did with Vitali last year but i`m almost resigned to the Audley fight now
God help us.... whatever happens we are in for some painful hype and then I will be rinsed wanting Haye to put Harrison to sleep
Which he will do!!! i reckon by the 3rd round Harrison will be on the canvas and will not be getting up, hope im wrong though so if i do go it lasts that little bit longer! G
This thread has reminded of a De La Hoya v Pac thread a couple of years ago in general forum. Everyone screaming that the fight was a joke, DLH would win inside a few rounds, lost respect for DLH taking such an easy fight, freak show etc etc. Just for the record though, I dont give Fraudley a chance in hell
The promotion for this fight is going to be massive. Then, after the fireworks have rescinded, all of the new fans will peer at the aftermath through the green-tinted smoke and will leave feeling they have been shortchanged and swindled. Fantastically shortsighted on the part of both Matchroom and Hayemaker, IMO. Before anyone jumps on this post, no-one (least of all me) doubts that it'll make money, but it's an absolute spoof of a fight. To think Haye has criticised the calibre of both of the Klits' defences in recent years as well. There are much better alternatives out there and he knows full-well what he's selling to the public in this fight. But hey, I'm merely an 'internet fan'. Who gives a **** about the longevity of the public's perception of the sport and the sport's chances of showcasing to the public the best product to promote the sport? I'm not making the 'Boxers should be Gladiators' argument, I'm just pointing out that most casual boxing fans I know see this as a joke and it harms the sport much more than one night's worth of revenue will ever help it.
Hopefully its a massive PPV flop but sadly it wont be. Harrison is garbage and this is no different Pavlik/Lockett, Cotto/Jennings or a potential fight of Mayweather and Matt Hatton. I thought he'd got into Wlad's head a bit at one point but now both brothers just laugh at him, shame!
Big audley always cheers me up, & not in a mocking way. His career has been pretty fascinating, but for mostly the wrong reason & it looks like hes now one fight away from proving the whole world wrong about him, cos he won prizefighter! Im a right sucker for a Rocky story. However, Audley aint gonna win. Im not knocking big Aud, I just hate to admit that that annoying smug git Haye is pretty special. Its gonna be quick and brutal, & not because Aud is so bad, its just that Haye is, damn I hate to admit, just miles ahead of the Audley Harrisons of this world.
