He has great wins, but he isn't a great fighter. He is too 1 dimensional and can be ****ing boring as **** to watch.

I'll think I'll stick with Couture being 1st tier and Gomi being second thanks. :good

    really?

    you forgot

    Duane Ludwig
    Mitsuhiro Ishida
    Luiz Azeredo
    Tatsuya Kawajiri
    Ralph Gracie

charles bennett was dangerous as well

your just giving me statistics here homeboy. I thought you didnt care for them?

stop playing around gomi is most certainly a top tier fighter otherwise he wouldnt have been ranked top lightweight and a p4p top 10 for years

I dont believe in bashing fighters but do you think randy would have survived in the pride hw division? I dont, I think fedor ,nog and cro-cop would steamroll him back in the pride days.

now how do you think randy would last in the pride against wanderlei, rampage, overeem, arona, shogun, henderson and the rest in pride.

dont get me wrong I think he was good and a legend, but just a little higher than someone like coleman or ken shamrock. he has more longevity than these guys but is very inconsistant.

He also lost to complete cans like Mikhail Illoukhine and Valentijn Overeem when he went over to japan.

I know my opinion is not popular, but I just see randy as a b+ fighter and not A material even though he held the belt.

I didn't forget them, I was purposefully only naming either man's best and/or major victories, I wasn't naming every single guy they ever beat.

I don't view Duane Ludwig as a major win, because he had already been stopped and submitted a few times before Gomi got to him, I don't view him as a top fighter at all. Tyson Griffin had knocked him out I'm sure.

Ishida was a good fighter, I could have included him.

Azeredo I don't rate, Kawajiri was decent, Gracie only had a few MMA fights, and Bennett had as many losses in his career as he did wins.

I am comfortable with my assessment of their careers and my placing of Couture above Gomi.

:patsch I don't care for statistics... when it comes to the current p4p rankings. I have explained this and explained it again so many times now, what is it that you do not understand here?!

As I said so many times, stats are important when analysing a fighter's career (like we are doing now!), but they are not important when discussing someone's current p4p standing. Do you really honestly not understand what I mean at all??!

I'm not playing around at anything. If you are putting MMA fighters into tiers of all-time greatness, then I don't think Gomi deserves to be in the same tier as guys like Fedor and Hughes. That's just my opinion on it.

I cannot judge someone on "what might have happened", I can only judge them on what did actually happen. I look at Couture's career, and I recognize that he achieved a hell of a lot, beat some great fighters, and had a very long career. Therefore, I judge him on that. It is insane to judge someone on what you think might have happened... but didn't.

yeah Im gonna just have to go ahead and disagree with you.

gomi not a top fighter is funny to me.

believe what you want about couture. he is a legend and deserves respect but is also hyped because it sells tickets.

what annoys me about you the most, is you think others accept your version of p4p rankings, what passes for a top tier fighter and anything else you choose. well guess what, I understand your rankings system but I dont agree with it- it is possible to not agree with your way of thinking is it not?

Get this **** though your head, I find your system to be flawed, its not that I dont understand where your coming from. difference in opinion, can you grasp a concept like that?

Nah, I can't get it through my head at all. I think you are very wrong, and rather stupid. And thank you for the Machida pic, I am a Machida fan so that was very nice of you to provide that :good

    thats why I did it:good

I am developing an image of you with your chin in the air a arrogant smile on your face.

to bad your not as smart/right as you think you are.

do you simply come to forums to have others agree with you?

I would hate to know you in the world, you really are not an interesting person, just too cliche.

perhaps you are a child and will grow out of the know-it-all-phase. if not im afraid you wont ever see the error of your thinking.

    Good luck homeboy

Yawn. The tired whines of defeat are rather boring to me. You should take defeat like a man, and not be bitter about it. :smoke

Arona is a very good fighter. But i dont think he's great. That said i believe as a grappler he could do VERY well in the cage. Dude just needs to fight.

if he came to the ufc he would do well, I agree.

with shogun as champ though, its hard to see arona beating him.

The current version of Shogun has lost a step. Plus the PRIDE rules favored Chuteboxe fighters much better. I wouldnt be surprised if Arona could lay and pray he's way to a decision.
