*Valuev - WBA Heavyweight Champ *Valuev lost to Chagaev *Chagaev - new WBA Heavyweight Champ *Chagaev - stripped of WBA Title - for the guts to step up and fight Wladimir - never lost WBA title in the ring - but loses by 9th round stoppage to Wlad. *Wlad has beaten the stripped WBA Heavyweight Champ (without being awarded the belt) *WBA title vacant - so they recycle some old names to get a new champ.................. *Valuev beats John Ruiz for vacant title *Valuev - new WBA Heavyweight Champ. * Valuev lost to David Haye - * Haye - new WBA Heavyweight Champ
People can play this game for as long as they want in any division they want, but the fact is there is multiple titles, people get stripped and other people win the title. That's the way it goes, you don't have to like it but it's fairly pointless talking about linear champions in this day and age. You could argue that Lennox Lewis wasn't WBC champ after Riddick Bowe threw his title in the bin, yet I didn't hear anyone saying that. It makes more sense to look at The Ring champions as generally they are the fighters who most boxing fans agree is No 1 in that division.
Kevin McBride is also the linear GOAT. McBride who beat Tyson who beat Holmes who beat Ali who is the "GOAT"
I cannot take credit for this observation. I saw someone else talk about this somewhere else on the internet (on Youtube) And I just wanted to post this theory here - to see if ESBs finest thought there was anything to it. :think
You can make any argument you like when faced with this type of stuff....before Chag got anywhere near the strap the man in your avatar had thrown it in the bin. Follow the line from there and you may come up with a surprising result. :hey
Yes - as long as its not David Haye I don't care I will never forgive David Haye - for what he did to Enzo that night I was so embarrassed - I told all my mates Enzo would win easily
