True and on paper he won nearly every round but he showed vulnerability, there were moments where 1 good right hand from Hoffman would finish him off but Hoffman was so slow and tired that he couldnt do it.

 

Hoffmann has faded, he doesn't take punches as good as before, a few years ago he surely would have stopped Dimitrenko.

 

Hoffman is only 33 years old, and it isnt like he has a lot of really tough opponents. Yeah, he took a beating from Vitali, drew with Krasniqi, lost by decision to Akinwande. You're mistaken that he was ever that good to begin with, Hoffman always been a slow plodder.

 

Sad but true... I have this feeling Sascha isn't going to get all that far in the sport...

 

The Hoffman that lost to Paolo Vidoz and struggled against Bob Mirovic. The Hoffman who has always been really slow! You guys are making it sound like the only reason Hoffman lost was because he was washed up, when he has always been that ponderous and is only 33 years old.

 

Hoffmann is one of those fighters that stop a lot of punches with his face, those kind of guys don't last that long, it catches up to them eventually and Hoffmann has reached this point. His (limited) skill hasn't deterioated, he just doesn't take punches as good as he used to. I didn't say that he was "that good", I said that a few years ago he was good enough that he would have stopped Dimitrenko without much doubt.

There is some pissed off German fans that actually thought Hoffman was a good HW. He has always been a slow, ponderous HW, who blocked punches with his face.

They are talking about the Hoffman of a few years ago, like he is washed up. Really, the Hoffman of a few years ago who lost to Paolo Vidoz and struggled to beat Bob Mirovic would beat Dimitrenko?

 

I guess dimitrenko would probably beat a younger hoffmann quite easily - on points. The way he boxed today wouldn't have been very advisable against the former timo. Actually it wasn't all that good of a gameplan against this faded version of the oak in today's fight.

 

No, the Hoffmann of 2000-2004, who is the only guy to last the distance with Viltali Klitschko up to his draw with Krasquitti, was a semi-decent fighter. Don't you get it, this isn't about Hoffmann, if he is/was any good, this is about how much Dimitrenko sucks.

 

Dimitrenko is way better than Hofmann!
He also has power enough,Hofmann was way more hurt than in his fight vs Vtali,who is a big puncher!

 

Be fair, please! As far as I understood timo was sort of the hometown boy there in magdeburg, looks like he boxed there a lot in the past. Hence their frenetic support...
