ESPN and Showtime KO1 HBO

i mean look what u are sayin. all these networks adding up to be better then HBO, maybe the case. as far as exciting fights. but HO is the mecca, not one of these networks alone can touch HBO.

 

I doubt it. HBO would MAKE money, not lose money, for Mayweather-Pacquiao. They don't need to save in the budget for that. They air a ton of fights that are loss leaders to get one huge fight like that.

HBO has had a lot of bad luck this year. Those fights fell through. Williams-Pavlik fell through, and now Williams won't sign to fight Martinez. Berto-Mosley had to get canceled. A number of other fights they've been targeting haven't happened. And frankly, this just hasn't been a great year for fights so far. Of my top 10 fights of the year so far, I think they break down like this:

ESPN - 2 (Escalante-Roman and Okada-Arroyo)
Integrated PPV - 2 (Estrada-Rivero and Segura-Calderon)
Sky Sports - 1 (Burns-Martinez)
Showtime - 2 (Kessler-Froch and Mares-Perez)
HBO - 1 (Martinez-Pavlik)
Fox Sports Net - 1 (Rosas-Nongqayi)
NHK (Japan) - 1 (Cazares-Nashiro)
Australia Fox - 1 (Vea-Siale)

I'm glad that ESPN3 is picking up some foreign fights on the cheap, but the reason HBO isn't doing that is because they aren't really competitive fights.

So it's not like Showtime and ESPN are blowing them out of the water or anything.

Your just mad because they no longer show Wlad Klitschko. Look for HBO to team up with the UFC soon. Boxing is a dying sport in the usa.
